STEWART ENERGY PLANT OUTAGES, Today:
The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Directorate of Public Works conducts scheduled energy plant outage, noon-5 p.m., today at Fort Stewart. Buildings affected are buildings 212, 213, 215, 216, 218, 501, 503, 504, 514, 515, 516, 629, 630, 631, 632, 633, 634, 635, 636, 637, 712, 713, 714, 715, 717, 719, 720 and 810. The outages are necessary to repair and replace critical valves. These buildings will be without hot water for up to 3 days. For more information, contact Randy Parks at 912-767-1676.

STEWART-HAAF LEGAL OFFICE CLOSURE, Today & Tuesday:
Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield, Office of Staff Judge Advocate, Client Services Office, Legal Assistance Office will be closed on today and Tuesday, due to the Division Training Holiday and Veteran’s Day. For more information, call 912-767-1054 of 912-315-6417.


HAAF CIF TEMPORARY CLOSURE, Today:
The Hunter Army Airfield Central Issue Facility (CIF) will be closed today to conduct annual inventory and will re-open Wednesday. POC for additional information is Mr. Ray Hamilton at (912) 435-0123.

WATER OUTAGE AT WAAF, Today:
From 8 a.m.-noon today, a water outage will take place at Wright Army Airfield. The entire Wright Army Airfield area will be affected by the water outage. Subject outage is necessary to install a new Water Main. POC regarding additional information relative to the above is Ben Seacrist, DPW Contract/Construction Branch, at (912) 228-7114.

STEWART POWER OUTAGE, Tuesday:
Buildings 1073, 1074, 1071, 1045, 1064, and S1072 will experience a scheduled electrical power outage Tuesday, for the changeover of a three phase power tap by Canoochee EMC.  The electrical outage will be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will take place during the Veteran's Day federal holiday.  POC for this action is Mr. Jim Maddox (DPW) at (912) 767-5027.

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE OBSERVATION, Wednesday:
The 1st ABCT will host the 3 ID Native American Heritage Observance in the Club Stewart Ballroom Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For more information, call 912-767-9265.

5K GLOW RUN/WALK, Friday:

Fort Stewart Medical Dept. Activity (MEDDAC) is hosting a 5k Glow Run/ Walk Friday. Preregistration is open now. Event-day registration is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the event goes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Warrior Transition Battalion's courtyard at Niles Ave & E. 9th St. Entry fees are $12 early registration, $15 same day registration (ages 12+), free entry for ages 11 and under. Glow sticks/accessories provided with registration and event t-shirts will be given to first 25 adults to register. Event t-shirts can be preordered for $10 (child S-L; adult S-L) to $12 (XL-3XL) each. Costumes, glow sticks/necklaces, strollers & wagons are strongly encouraged. Entry fees are non-refundable. MARNE DIVISION BALL, Nov. 21:
Come celebrate the 3rd Infantry Division’s 97th Birthday at beautiful Jekyll Island.  The Division Ball is at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, Nov. 21 starting at 5:30 p.m.  Guests are given the option of a fine chicken or steak meal and a memento.  The evening also includes a guest speaker, dancing, and a photographer on site to commemorate the evening.  Tickets are available through your Brigade or Unit representatives and are available only to 3ID military, DA civilians, contractors & Gold Star Families. FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS, Nov. 24:
This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. OPERATION HOMEFRONT HOLIDAY TOY DISTRIBUTION, Dec. 4:
To receive one free toy per child, Soldiers E1-E6 must register at www.operationhomefront.net. Distribution is Dec. 4 at Club Stewart from noon-6 p.m. Sponsors are Dollar Tree stores, Wal-Mart and Veterans United Foundation. Last year, this nationwide program distributed millions of toys. PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION BRIEF, Dec. 10 & 16:

Now that you have finished drinking the liquids (milk, tea, juice, etc.) out of those 1-gallon milk jugs, don't throw them away! Save them for a recycle project that the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will be creating AGAIN this year for the Christmas holiday season. LARGE CALIBER RIFLE SHOOT, Saturday:
Soldiers, Retirees, Army Civilians, and civilian guests have an opportunity to sight-in large caliber weapons Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Small Arms November Range on Fort Stewart. Targets provided and shooting benches available for use at each point. The cost is $5 per two-hour block/person. Directions to range: from Gulick Avenue, take 15th Street to McFarland. At McFarland, turn right onto FS Road 40 and follow signs. The range is past the main railhead, one-half mile on the right. For more information, call 912-767-4316.

HUNTER TURKEY TROT FUN RUN, Saturday:
Come out to the Turkey Trot Fun Run, a free, non-competitive Family event where you can walk or run 5K or 1.5 miles. Everyone who runs or walks the race route will be eligible for the drawing of a gift certificate for a turkey. Only one turkey per family. 2014/2015 FALL BASKETBALL & CHEERLEADING SIGN-UPS AT HUNTER:

TAVIS SMILEY JOINS 2015 SAVANNAH BOOK FESTIVAL, February 2015:
Another blockbuster author has joined the nearly 40 writers scheduled to speak at the 2015 Savannah Book Festival. Tavis Smiley, New York Times best-selling author, award-winning PBS late-night television talk show host and public radio broadcaster, will present his new book, Death of a King: The Real Story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Final Year, Feb. 14, 2015. All Festival presentations that day in and around Telfair, Wright and Chippewa Squares in Savannah’s Historic District are free and open to the public. The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).

Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
