HUNTER SFL-TAP CENTER INFORMATION, Today:
Information session with GA Tech and Gulfstream, today from 3-5 p.m., at Hunter AAF SFL-TAP Center, building 1289. GA Tech is partnering with “Gulfstream” to provide the Army’s first Active Duty Internship!! This program is a four-week program offered by GA Tech at no cost to service members. RANGE CONTROL OIC/RSO CLASS CANCELLATION, Tuesday-Thursday:

The Fort Stewart Health Benefits Fair is scheduled 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday & Wednesday at the Fort Stewart Education Center in rooms 240 and 242; Tuesday in rooms 249 and 250 Wednesday. DES CLOSURE, Thursday & Friday:

MARNE DIVISION BALL, Friday:
Come celebrate the 3rd Infantry Division’s 97th Birthday at beautiful Jekyll Island.  The Division Ball is at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, Friday starting at 5:30 p.m.  Guests are given the option of a fine chicken or steak meal and a memento.  The evening also includes a guest speaker, dancing, and a photographer on site to commemorate the evening.  Tickets are available through your Brigade or Unit representatives and are available only to 3ID military, DA civilians, contractors & Gold Star Families. Enjoy an evening of fine dining, our guest speaker, camaraderie, and dancing! FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS, Nov. 24:

This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. To register for this class, please submit your first and last name to Mrs. Richele Martinez, Richele.L.Martinez.civ@mail.mil by COB Nov. 20. Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted.  This class is mandated for all those dealing with food items on FSGA/HAAF (Unit functions, Organizational Days, FRG Events). STEWART-HAAF DIRECTORATE OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND HOUSING SERVICES OFFICE CLOSURE, Nov. 28:
DHR and HSO Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield offices will be closed Nov. 28. Buildings affected on Fort Stewart include all offices belonging to the DHR and Housing Services Office (HSO) in building 253-Soldier Service Center; building 100-ACES; building 161 - FOIA/RHA/Pubs; building 201; 201A & 201C - ASAP; building 208- Mower Processing Center; building 418 - OMDC; building 621 - SFL-TAP;  Buildings affected on Hunter AAF include all offices belonging to the DHR in building 212-ASAP; building 1283-ASAP; building 1286-MPD; building 1287- HSO; building 1289-SFL-TAP; building 1290- ACES; building 1212 -OMDC. We will reopen for normal operations Dec. 1.

WARRIOR TRANSITION BATTALION GOLF SCRAMBLE, Dec. 5:

EMERALD PRINCESS CASINO CRUISE SHIP TRIP, Saturday:
Registration deadline is Wednesday for Leisure Travel trip 9 a.m. Saturday to Brunswick, GA, for a cruise aboard the 200-foot, four-deck Emerald Princess, the Jewel of the Golden Isles. Cost is $20 per person for transportation and admission. Dining is offered on the Bistro Deck.  Guests must be at least 18 years old and present government-issued photo ID to sail on the ship and 21 years old to consume alcohol. SKIES UNLIMITED TO HOST YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINICS:
SKIES Unlimited will host Youth Basketball Clinics for 3rd-10th graders at the Fort Stewart Youth Center, (building  5655) from 2-5 p.m. Nov. 23, 30, and Dec 7 and 14. The cost is $15 per clinic per person. Coach Jason Baker will provide tips and techniques on pivoting, catching, passing, dribbling, shooting, defense, faking, cutting, rebounding and other drills. ALL ARMY DIGITAL PHOTO CONTEST ENTRIES INVITED:
See how your photography skills compare with others Army-wide and here at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield. Enter the 2014 All Army Digital Photo Contest online at arts.armymwr.com <https://apps.imcom.army.mil/apptracmain> by Nov. 30. There is no charge. Photos submitted by Stewart/Hunter participants will be entered into a local contest through the Garrison, which will take place on Dec. 4. Local winners will receive certificates and advance to the All Army Competition. There are two major divisions: Active duty Soldiers and other eligible participants, including Family members, Retirees, and DA Civilians. 2014-2015 COMPANY-LEVEL BASKETBALL LEAGUE SIGN-UP BEGINS:
Register by Friday for the Company-Level Basketball League season, which begins Dec. 8 and continues through March 2015 at Newman and Tominac fitness centers. Games played Monday through Thursday. Companies interested in playing need to submit a memo (letter of intent to play) to Bennett Sports Complex, building 471 at Stewart or Squires Sports Offices, building 1460 at Hunter. 2014/2015 FALL BASKETBALL & CHEERLEADING SIGN-UPS AT HUNTER:
Enroll now at Parent Central Services, building 6054 (912-315-5425) to play youth basketball or be a cheerleader. Registration for boys and girls basketball (ages 4-17) and cheerleading (ages 4-12) ends Thursday (Nov. 20). Coed team practice begins second week in December and season begins mid-January 2015. Games played at surrounding YMCA and Jewish Education Alliance fields. Smaller age groups play at Hunter fields, depending on number of teams in each group. TAVIS SMILEY JOINS 2015 SAVANNAH BOOK FESTIVAL, February 2015:
Another blockbuster author has joined the nearly 40 writers scheduled to speak at the 2015 Savannah Book Festival. Tavis Smiley, New York Times best-selling author, award-winning PBS late-night television talk show host and public radio broadcaster, will present his new book, Death of a King: The Real Story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Final Year, Feb. 14, 2015. All Festival presentations that day in and around Telfair, Wright and Chippewa Squares in Savannah’s Historic District are free and open to the public. The exact time and location of Smiley’s presentation, along with those of the other authors participating in the 2015 Savannah Book Festival Saturday, will be announced on the Festival’s website in early February. MARNE MESSAGE SUBMISSIONS:
The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).

If you have moved and are no longer assigned to Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield, follow these instructions to change your duty location. Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
