DES CLOSURE, Today & Friday:
The Directorate of Emergency Services Police Records Section, building 283 (police reports, tickets, BARS, accident reports) will be closed today and Friday for training.  Personnel with questions or requesting additional information may contact James Chesser at 912-767-6328.

HAAF ASAP TRAINING CANCELLED, Friday:
The 1st quarter FY15 HAAF ASAP Prescription Drug Training scheduled on Friday has been canceled. The training will be rescheduled for a later date. For more information, call 912-315-5592.

MARNE DIVISION BALL, Friday:
Come celebrate the 3rd Infantry Division’s 97th Birthday at beautiful Jekyll Island.  The Division Ball is at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, Friday starting at 5:30 p.m.  Guests are given the option of a fine chicken or steak meal and a memento.  The evening also includes a guest speaker, dancing, and a photographer on site to commemorate the evening.  Tickets are available through your Brigade or Unit representatives and are available only to 3ID military, DA civilians, contractors & Gold Star Families. Enjoy an evening of fine dining, our guest speaker, camaraderie, and dancing! NOVEMBER/OTHER HEADLINES

FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS, Monday:
This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. To register for this class, please submit your first and last name to Mrs. Richele Martinez, Richele.L.Martinez.civ@mail.mil by COB today. Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted.  This class is mandated for all those dealing with food items on FSGA/HAAF (Unit functions, Organizational Days, FRG Events). TRAINING RESOURCE CONFERENCE, Tuesday:
S-3's, Operations Sergeants Major, Master Gunners and Schools NCO's are reminded that the next monthly Training Resource Conference will be held Tuesday, 9:30am, at MOON THEATER. We will schedule training devices, ranges and training areas up through May 2015. The next conference will not be until Jan. 27. For more information, call 912-435-8142.

DFAC THANKSGIVING MEAL, Tuesday:
Soldiers, Family Members, and guests are invited to eat in the Dining Facilities for Thanksgiving at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.  The Thanksgiving meal is Tuesday in the Legion (building 207), Raider (building 642), Thunder CafĂ© (building 3003), Vanguard (building 8439), HAAF Consolidated (building 110) and the Noncommissioned Officers Academy DFAC’s from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $7.70 per person.  For additional information call (912) 767-8761.

REGISTRATION OFFICE CLOSURES, Nov. 28:
The Registration (Vehicle) Registration Offices at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, GA will be closed Nov. 28. For more information, call 912-767-1883.

STEWART-HAAF DIRECTORATE OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND HOUSING SERVICES OFFICE CLOSURE, Nov. 28:
DHR and HSO Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield offices will be closed Nov. 28. Buildings affected on Fort Stewart include all offices belonging to the DHR and Housing Services Office (HSO) in building 253-Soldier Service Center; building 100-ACES; building 161 - FOIA/RHA/Pubs; building 201; 201A & 201C - ASAP; building 208- Mower Processing Center; building 418 - OMDC; building 621 - SFL-TAP;  Buildings affected on Hunter AAF include all offices belonging to the DHR in building 212-ASAP; building 1283-ASAP; building 1286-MPD; building 1287- HSO; building 1289-SFL-TAP; building 1290- ACES; building 1212 -OMDC. We will reopen for normal operations Dec. 1.

GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISOR TRAINING-FS:
The Garrison Commander will conduct mandatory training for all Garrison Civilian Supervisors and those in uniform that supervise Garrison Civilians, AF and NAF Dec. 1 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and Dec. 5 from 9-10 a.m. at the Main Post Chapel. A make-up session will be held Dec. 10 from 9-10 a.m. in the Garrison Conference Room, building 624. Sign-in begins 30 minutes prior to start time. IG OFFICE CLOSURE, Dec. 5:
The 3rd ID Office of the Inspector General will be closed on Dec. 5. WARRIOR TRANSITION BATTALION GOLF SCRAMBLE, Dec. 5:

EFMP SUPPORT GROUP:
ACS EFMP is in the process of starting a new support group for families with children with multiple disabilities. RECYCLE INFORMATION:
In Fiscal Year 14, Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield together recycled 3,053,372 pounds of paper and 3,772,752 pounds of cardboard.  One way to reach our 50% mandated reduction goal is through recycling paper. Please be sure to place all paper in a clear plastic bag before placing it in a recycling container. FINAL DAYS FOR ORDERING THANKSGIVING MEALS TO GO FROM CLUB STEWART:
There’s still time to order your to-go Thanksgiving dinner from Club Stewart. Orders will be accepted through Friday. The last day for pickup is Wednesday. Order turkey and ham by the pound (10-pound minimum), plus sides of mashed potatoes, southern green bean casserole, southern baked macaroni and cheese, cornbread stuffing and sweet potato or pumpkin pie. ALL ARMY DIGITAL PHOTO CONTEST ENTRIES INVITED:
See how your photography skills compare with others Army-wide and here at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield. Enter the 2014 All Army Digital Photo Contest online at arts.armymwr.com <https://apps.imcom.army.mil/apptracmain> by Nov. 30. There is no charge. Photos submitted by Stewart/Hunter participants will be entered into a local contest through the Garrison, which will take place on Dec. 4. Local winners will receive certificates and advance to the All Army Competition. There are two major divisions: Active duty Soldiers and other eligible participants, including Family members, Retirees, and DA Civilians. "TURKEY EGG HUNT" AT CORKAN, Dec. 1:
Turkeys have escaped the table and left some eggs in the area of Cypress Creek Adventure Golf, building 448. Kids (ages 0-5) are invited to come out and hunt for the missing eggs while having fun, searching high and low. The egg hunt is free and starts promptly at 10 a.m. Dec. 1. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY AT STEWART, Dec. 4:
The Christmas tree outside Club Stewart will come to life at the Tree Lighting Ceremony, starting at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4.  There’s no charge. Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Gluhwein will be available for sale. Seasonal music by 3rd ID Band, plus High School Chorus and cheerleaders. Santa Claus will be available for pictures, so bring your cameras. KURTZ VISITS GNOMECON, March 6, 2015:
GnomeCon, a locally organized science fiction/fantasy and gaming convention, is slated for March 6-8, 2015 at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St, in the heart of downtown Savannah. This year’s guests include Katherine Kurtz and her husband Scott MacMillan. Kurtz is the author of the Deryni series of fantasy novels. MARNE MESSAGE SUBMISSIONS:
The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).

WANT TO GET MARNE MESSAGES?:

If you have moved and are no longer assigned to Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield, follow these instructions to change your duty location. Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
