DENTAL APPOINTMENTS AT HUNTER, Columbus Day weekend:
If you or your Soldiers have a dental emergency over the Columbus Day weekend, report to Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Room and the dentist on duty will be called. Appointments may be scheduled or rescheduled through the DENTAC Single Access Line, (912) 435-6777.

STEWART ROAD CLOSURE, Today & Thursday:

DENTAL APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY FOR THE FSGA/HAAF DENTAL CLINICS, Friday:

VETERINARY TREATMENT FACILITY (VTF) CLOSURE, Friday & Monday:

HAAF LEGAL CLOSURE, Friday & Monday:

HAAF POWER OUTAGE, Friday:
Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., there will be an Electrical Outage at Building 8300 at Hunter Army Airfield. This should be the only building affected. The outage is necessary to connect a new backup generator to the building. POC for this construction effort is Jim Shurling at 912-320-0472.

NAF POSITION OPEN FOR BARTENDERS:

OCTOBER/OTHER HEADLINES

DPTMS ORGANIZATION DAY CLOSURE, Oct. 17:
The Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security will be closed Oct. 17 due to its organization day. Normal duty hours and services will resume Oct. 20. For more information, call 912-767-3772.

DESIGNATED UNIT SECURITY MANAGERS COURSE AVAILABLE, Oct. 21-24:
IAW FORSCOM Supplement 1 to 380-5, referencing Designated Unit Security Managers, each battalion/activity is required to appoint a DUSM on orders. The DPTMS Security Division SETA Branch conducts a 4 day Security Managers Course (SMC) to prepare individuals to take on the role of DUSM. The next course is Oct. 21-24. Prospective DUSM must bring with them their DUSM Appointment Letter. All 3rd ID individuals requiring training must contact Al Temple, alan.j.temple2.civ@mail.mil or 912-435-9763. HAAF POWER OUTAGE, Oct. 25-26:

The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Directorate of Public Works will conduct scheduled power outages, beginning at 7 a.m. on Hunter Army Airfield at the following buildings: 1062, 1060, S-1023, 1024, 1029, 1003, 1034, 1021, 1026, 1020, 1027, 1036, and 1420. The outages are necessary to replace overhead primary. These buildings will be without power for up to 2 days, so please remove any perishable items. STATE OF THE GARRISON, Oct. 28 & 31:
The Garrison workforce is invited to attend the Fort Stewart State of the Garrison workforce brief, Oct. 28, 1-3 p.m., at the Main Post Chapel and the Hunter AAF State of the Garrison workforce brief, Oct. 31, 9-11 a.m., at the Hunter Chapel.  Please be sure to be seated 15-30 minutes prior to start of event.  This event will be your primary place of duty during this time. FS/HAAF CHAPEL FALL FESTIVAL, Oct. 31:
The Fort Stewart Main Post Chapel and the Hunter Army Airfield Chapel will hold their annual Fall Festival, Oct. 31. The FS Fall Festival will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the FS Main Post Chapel, Bldg 500; the HAAF Fall Festival will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Hunter Chapel Fellowship Hall, Bldg 145. Every Child must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times. The Military Community is invited to come out and have a great time, enjoy food, fellowship, and become acquainted with the many services/activities the Religious Support Office provides through the Chapel's Programs, Religious Education and Worship Services. Prizes and candy will be given out to the kids while they play in a safe and secure environment. CYSS FEE POLICY CHANGES, Nov. 1:

Effective Nov. 1, changes to the SY14-15 Army Child and Youth Fee Policy will go into effect at all Fort Stewart & HAAF CYSS programs. The upcoming changes can be found at www.stewartMWR.com and www.hunterMWR.com CYSS websites.  The major changes address specific DoD Contractors and TFI categories. The Military Child Care Act (MCCA) of 1989, codified in Section 568 of the Nation Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 1996, requires DoD to establish Child Care Fees based on Total Family Income (TFI).  The Army SY14-15 Child & Youth Fee Policy addresses patron fees for Child Development Centers (CDCs), School Age Care (SAC), Family Child Care (FCC), Middle School & Teen Programs, SKIESUnlimited Instructional Programs, Youth Sports & Fitness, and Army Community Based Programs. CARO FITNESS CENTER COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND HOURS OF OPERATION:
The hours of operation for Caro Fitness Center, building 708, will change for the upcoming holiday weekend. The center will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday. Caro will be closed Monday for the Columbus Day holiday and reopen Oct. 14, from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. For more information, call 912-767-4763.

FORT STEWART FALL CARNIVAL, Thursday-Sunday; Oct. 16-19:
Dates have been added to the schedule for pay-as-you-go Carnival at Walker Field (adjacent to Bennett Sports Complex). Carnival now will be open at Stewart Thursday-Sunday and Oct. 16-19. Adult and children’s rides, plus food concessions and skill games. Hours of operation will be Thursday 6-10 p.m., Friday 6-11 p.m., Saturday noon -11 p.m. and Sunday 1-11 p.m. Ride fees will range from 3-4 tickets per ride. Carnival-goers can save by purchasing tickets in quantity or by purchasing arm bands for unlimited rides for the night. No weapons, pets, coolers or food allowed on site. GARRISON COMMANDER'S GOLF SCRAMBLE AT HUNTER, Friday:
LTC Will Bowman extends an invitation to participate in the Garrison Commander’s golf scramble at Hunter Golf Course. Bring a 4-person team to challenge the Garrison Team. KAYAK/CANOE FLOAT TRIP ON A COASTAL GEORGIA RIVER, Saturday:
Enjoy a leisurely paddle down a Coastal Georgia River from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Participants asked to register by Thursday. Lifeguards on trip to assist if needed. Bring your own lunch for a picnic on a sandbar or shaded area.  Don't forget your camera. It is recommended that beginners take a basic course at Holbrook Pond. Youth under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Paddlers must be at least 12 years old. "GET GOLF READY" AT HUNTER, Oct. 14, 16, 18, 21 and 23:

‘DAWN OF THE ZOMBIES 5K RUN AT HOLBROOK POND,’ Oct. 18:

The “Dawn of the Zombies 5K Run at Holbrook Pond” will get under way, rain or shine, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 18. Registration via www.active.com <http://www.active.com>  continues. The cost is $30 per person until Saturday. The fee is $40 on the day of the run. Participants can walk or jog the trail. A clock will be in place at the start/finish point for runners who want to record their personal times. Volunteers are needed to help the zombies put on their makeup, or to be zombies themselves. STEWART/HUNTER OPERATION RISING STAR CONTESTANT SIGN-UP:
Singers from Stewart/Hunter who want to compete in Operation Rising Star have until Oct. 22 to sign up at either the Stewart Recreation Office in room 125 of building 443, or at the Stewart or Hunter Leisure Travel office. No charge to compete. Open to Active Duty, National Guard or Reserve from any branch of service, or Family Members 18 years of age or older. The three rounds of the local Operation Rising Star competition will be in Thunder Run restaurant at Club Stewart, Oct. 23, Oct. 27 and Oct. 29. First prize is $500, second $250 and third $100. Family Readiness Groups or units are eligible to win the Spirit Award -- $300 toward their unit funds – or other prizes, regardless of whether they have a competitor in the competition. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Marne Messages are posted daily at www.stewart.army.mil, and www.facebook.com/3rd.Infantry.Division>. MESSAGES HAVE A 3-DAY RUN LIMIT; you may, however, re-submit after 3rd day for continuations. Please submit your messages by 9:45 a.m. daily for inclusion in the same-day message.

Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
