DESIGNATED UNIT SECURITY MANAGERS COURSE AVAILABLE, Today-Friday:
IAW FORSCOM Supplement 1 to 380-5, referencing Designated Unit Security Managers, each battalion/activity is required to appoint a DUSM on orders. The DPTMS Security Division SETA Branch conducts a 4 day Security Managers Course (SMC) to prepare individuals to take on the role of DUSM. This will include Information, Personnel, Industrial, Physical, Communication Security, Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and much more. The course is today-Friday. FACEBOOK TOWNHALL, Wednesday:
Fort Stewart-Hunter Airfield holds the quarterly Facebook Town Hall Meeting at www.facebook.com/3rd.Infantry.Division, 3-4 p.m., Wednesday. The Facebook Town Hall provides an interactive feedback venue. The Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Command Teams and their staffs will answer your questions divided into 9 threads.  Community members will be invited to place their question or comment into one of the nine following threads: Town Hall Thread 1 - Chaplain question or comments; Town Hall Thread 2 - MEDDAC; Town Hall Thread 3 - DENTAC; Town Hall Thread 4 - Public Works; Town Hall Thread 5 - Safety and Emergency; Town Hall Thread 6 - Child care, Schools, FRGs or Recreation activities; Town Hall Thread 7 - Commissary or AAFES; Town Hall Thread 8 - Hunter Army Airfield Specific; and Town Hall Thread 9 - Miscellaneous questions or comments.

STEWART PERSONAL PROPERTY OFFICE CLOSURE, Thursday:

RED RIBBON WEEK, Thursday:
The Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP)  will kick off  this year’s Red Ribbon Campaign by handing out Red Ribbons at all entry gates to both FS and HAAF  Thursday between 8 a.m.-8:45 a.m. The ASAP will also host Ribbon Week Kickoff Presentation by Street Smart at Fort Stewart Woodruff Theater 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and at Hunter Army Airfield 2-3 p.m. On-Post and Community schools will kick off “Love Yourself and Be Drug Free” poster contest and canned food drive to support Second Harvest Sign the Red Ribbon Pledge. CPAC ADMIN TRAINING CLASS, Friday:
The Fort Stewart Civilian Personnel Advisory Center will be hosting an Administrative Training Class, designed to keep Administrative Personnel and New Managers abreast of new policies and procedures occurring within the HR community.  The training will be from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Friday, at the SFC Paul R. AIR FORCE HAUNTED HOUSE, Friday:
The 15 ASOS is having a haunted house Friday and is open to anyone who would like to attend. The haunted house will be located at 164 W. Lowe Circle, on Wright Army Airfield, and open from 7-9 p.m. Not only will this be a great time for the family but it will help raise money for our Unit Advisory Council, which aides the families of deployed Airmen and manages squadron morale events. SAVE THOSE JUGS!
Now that you have finished drinking the liquids (milk, tea, juice, etc.) out of those 1-gallon milk jugs, don't throw them away! Save them for a recycle project that the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will be creating AGAIN this year for the Christmas holiday season. Your contribution goes toward making igloos and other seasonal products. You have to see them to believe these awesome scenic display made from your very own recycles! STEWART-HAAF RECYCLING POLICY, ongoing:

The FS/HAAF Recycling Center will only take personal e-waste from those living on post. This includes computers, printers, keyboards, telephones, DVD players, modems, etc. No government e-waste will be accepted at the recycling center. Government e-waste shall be taken to Defense Logistics Agency Disposal Services (formerly DRMO) with a completed 1348 form, even if the item(s) is/are not on your property book. REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR ACES COLLEGE GRADUATION CEREMONY, Oct 26:
The 33rd Annual College Graduation is 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Main Post Chapel. The event is open to all Military, Family Members, Retirees, and employees if you are within nine semester hours of completing degree requirements or have earned a degree, certificate or diploma since Jan, 2013. MONTHLY TRAINING RESOURCE CONFERENCE, Oct. 28:

FS/HAAF CHAPEL FALL FESTIVAL, Oct. 31:
The Fort Stewart Main Post Chapel and the Hunter Army Airfield Chapel will hold their annual Fall Festival, Oct. 31. The FS Fall Festival will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the FS Main Post Chapel, Bldg 500; the HAAF Fall Festival will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Hunter Chapel Fellowship Hall, Bldg 145. Every Child must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times. The Military Community is invited to come out and have a great time, enjoy food, fellowship, and become acquainted with the many services/activities the Religious Support Office provides through the Chapel's Programs, Religious Education and Worship Services. Prizes and candy will be given out to the kids while they play in a safe and secure environment. MARNE DIVISION BALL, Nov. 21:
Come celebrate the 3rd Infantry Division’s 97th Birthday at beautiful Jekyll Island.  The Division Ball is at the Jekyll Island Convention Center on Friday, Nov. 21 starting at 5:30 p.m.  Guests are given the option of a fine chicken or steak meal and a memento.  The evening also includes a guest speaker, dancing, and a photographer on site to commemorate the evening.  Ticket prices will be published soon with sales beginning in October. NEW MARNE MESSAGE POLICY, begins Nov. 1: 
Beginning Nov. 1 the Marne Message will only be sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.  The deadline for the Monday Marne Message will be COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message will be COB Wednesday. All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages), but will be emailed only twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.  Marne Message submissions should still be made to:

FINAL DAYS TO SIGN UP FOR STEWART/HUNTER OPERATION RISING STAR:  
Wednesday is the final day for Stewart/Hunter singers who want to compete in Operation Rising Star to sign up at either the Stewart Recreation Office in room 125 of building 443, or at the Stewart or Hunter Leisure Travel office. No charge to compete. Open to Active Duty, National Guard or Reserve from any branch of service, or Family Members 18 years of age or older. The three rounds of the local Operation Rising Star competition will be in Thunder Run restaurant at Club Stewart. Round 1 will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Round 2 at 7 p.m. Oct. 27, and Round 3 at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29. First prize is $500, second $250 and third $100. Family Readiness Groups or units are eligible to win the Spirit Award -- $300 toward their unit funds – or other prizes, regardless of whether they have a competitor in the competition. CROSSFIT FORT STEWART WARRIOR CHALLENGE 2014, Saturday:
Registration will close Wednesday for the CrossFit Fort Stewart Warrior Challenge, scheduled Saturday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Caro Fitness Center, building 708. TOYS FOR TOTS GOLF TOURNAMENT, Saturday:

Community Members are invited to this year's Toys For Tots Golf Tournament, Oct. 25 at the Taylor’s Creek Golf Course.  Last year, they served 2439 children, 879 of which were military dependent children. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Marne Messages are posted daily at www.stewart.army.mil, and www.facebook.com/3rd.Infantry.Division>. MESSAGES HAVE A 3-DAY RUN LIMIT; you may, however, re-submit after 3rd day for continuations. Please submit your messages by 9:45 a.m. daily for inclusion in the same-day message.

IF YOU HAVE PCS'D:

If you have moved and are no longer assigned to Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield, follow these instructions to change your duty location. Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
