CYSS FEE POLICY & IMPLEMENTATION DATE POSTPONED:

Several weeks ago a letter was issued to parents at all CYSS facilities outlining the new fee policy and implementation date of Nov. 1, 2015.

Parents are asked to please disregard this letter as the outlined date has been postponed until further notice.  Once CYSS receives guidance from the Department of Defense a new letter will be issued containing the new dates & procedures. DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION CLASSES, Thursday:

The Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) will host Georgia State Patrol Officer Andy Sinquefield, who will discuss the origin of Red Ribbon Week and provide Drug Abuse Prevention classes, today at Fort Stewart's Woodruff Theater from 10-11 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. All community members are invited to attend this presentation. All units are encouraged to take advantage of this training opportunity. The ASAP will count the training hours toward each unit’s minimum 4-hour annual Substance Abuse Prevention and Awareness Training requirement. EFMP PLAYGROUND CLOSURE, Thursday:

EFMP TRUNK/TREAT, Today:

SIDEWALK SALE STEWART COMMISSARY, Thursday-Saturday:

The Fort Stewart commissary will be having a sidewalk sale today-Saturday. Many available items sold in bulk with even more extra products offered outside the commissary.  Please note that the commissaries are not responsible for early sell out of items during sales due to high customer volume or limited product availability. ANNUAL BREAST CANCER LUNCH AND LEARN, Friday:

WINN Army Community Hospital invites community members to the second annual breast cancer lunch and learn, Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Patriot Auditorium.  Lunch is free and information will be invaluable.  For more information call 912-4335-5071 ext. 5587.

 

LRC CLOSED, Friday:

The Logistics Readiness Center will be closed Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. for an Organization Day.  This closure includes but is not limited to Personal Property/Household Goods, CIF, Storage, ASP, and Installation Property Book.  For emergencies, individuals may call (912) 210-6787. Operations will resume on Monday.

 

WEAR PINK FOR THE COMMANDER’S SCRAMBLE, Friday:

Players are reminded to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness during the Commander’s Scramble on Friday at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Registration and lunch are at 11 a.m. and play begins at noon. The $45 per player cost includes golf cart, greens fee, range balls, lunch, mulligans and prizes. FRG BROWNBAG, Friday:

Both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will have FRG Brownbag events upcoming.  The HAAF event will be conducted, Friday in building 1286, Rm 129 from 10 a.m.-Noon and the FS event will be conducted Nov. 6, from 10 a.m.-Noon in building 87.  This event is open to FRG Leaders, volunteers, Advisors and Family Readiness Liaisons.  Share information, promote relationships and help other FRGs grow in 2015.  Call (912) 767-1257/4047/1597 for details.

 

TODDLER HALLOWEEN PARTY AT CORKAN, Friday:

Celebrate Halloween with a costume party at Corkan Family Fun Center, building 449, from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday. Dress up your little ones in their favorite costume. Parents, please bring a treat for your children to share with their friends. Corkan provides site and Capri Sun beverage for all little trick-or-treaters. Party is free. STEWART TRICK OR TREAT HOURS, Saturday:

The 2015 Halloween Trick or Treat hours in the Fort Stewart housing area will be 6-8 p.m. on Saturday. Please expect a higher than normal pedestrian traffic as Family members participate during this weekend event.  Expect to see increased Military Police for the safety of Families.  Soldiers and Family members will to decrease speeds in and around the housing areas across the instillation and other areas where pedestrian traffic may be present. FREE CANDY STEWART COMMISSARY, Saturday:

The Fort Stewart commissary grocery manager will be handing out limited amount of free bags of candy to children Saturday from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Please note that the commissary is not responsible for early run out of supplies during the event due to high demand volume. HEARING CONSERVATION HOURS CHANGE, Monday:

Effective Monday, Hearing Conservation hours at the Soldier Service Center will be as follows: Mondays-Thursdays, 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. (Unit testing); Fridays, 10:30 a.m.-NOON, (Unit testing); 1-3:45 p.m. (Follow-ups). There are NO LONGER WALK-IN hours available. All units testing MUST have appointed HPO present during scheduled timeframe. MARNE BOWLING CENTER TURKEY SHOOT, Monday-Nov. 25:

Bowl two consecutive strikes during normal business hours at Marne Bowling Center from Nov. 2-25 and you will win a frozen turkey. The cost is $1 per person. Fort Stewart New Parent Support Play Morning held at the Youth Sports and Fitness Center from 10:30 am to noon on Thursdays will be held on the following dates for the month of November 2015 and December 2015. November dates are: 5 and 12. December dates are 3 and 10. Hunter Army Airfield New Parent Support Play Morning held at the Building 8805 from 10:30 am to noon on Tuesdays will be held on the following dates for the month of November: 3 and 10; and for December: 8 and 15. PROMOTION POINTS FOR ACS CLASSES SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE:

Notice due to conflicting information with current regulations, HQ IMCOM has asked that receiving promotion points for ACS classes be suspended for a short time. JOIN BRITTIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO, ongoing:

The PTO is very important to Brittin Elementary School. PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization and is a nonprofit group comprised of parents, teachers, and staff dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at Brittin Elementary School. Our goals are to encourage interaction between family and school, serve as a source of support, and work with teachers, staff, and the community at large to improve our children's educational experience. AFAP SUBMISSIONS:

Do you have an issue that you feel needs addressed?  Do you have a potential solution?  Please consider submitting an Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) issue.  Your submission must be a Global issue that effects the entire Army.  You can submit issues on-line at the ACS portion of the Team Stewart website or look for submission boxes through-out the Installation.
