SIGNAL WARRANT OFFICER PROPONENT OFFICER VISITS FSGA, Today:
Attention all Warrant Officers or those interested in becoming a Warrant Officer. Signal Warrant Officer Proponent Officer! Chief Warrant Officer 4 Towles is in our area today and Friday. The purpose of his visit is to assist NCOs who are interested in submitting warrant officer packets; assist current warrant officers who are interested in becoming 255S; discuss changes that are coming to the Signal Branch as whole; answer any questions; and address concerns and take back our input on Signal related issues.  His tentative schedule is 10 a.m. to Noon, today:  Current Warrant Officer briefing for 255S and Cyber (Main Post Chapel) and noon to 1:30 p.m. Warrant lunch (The Pour House 135 W Hendry St Hinesville, GA 31313. 10 a.m. to Noon, Friday: NCO brief for perspective Signal Officers at Main Post Chapel and Noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday: Warrant Lunch with NCOs (Gatta's in Hinesville at 811 Elma G. Miles Parkway Hinesville; and 2-4 p.m., Friday: NCO briefing for perspective Signal Warrants at the Main Post Chapel.

HAAF PWOC FREE MARKET, Today:
The Hunter Chapel Protestant Women of the Chapel is hosting an indoor FREE market today from 10 a.m.-noon at the Hunter Army Airfield Chapel Fellowship Hall. New and gently used items free to military homes will be on hand.  Event is open to all women in the military community.  Join us for sweet treats and fellowship as you shop for new treasures at our Free Market.   For more information contact Mrs. Paul at (912) 335-8939.

DHR TEMPORARY CLOSURE, Today:
All DHR facilities at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be closed for Organization Day activities, today. Facilities affected at Fort Stewart include DHR offices in buildings 253, 100, 161, 418, 201, 621 and 526.   Hunter Army Airfield facilities include DHR offices in buildings 1212, 1286, 1290, and 1289.   All DHR services will resume regular business hours on Oct. 16. FALL CARNIVAL AT FORT STEWART, Today-Sunday:
Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Fall Carnival, featuring 30 rides, 10 games and famous carnival food, will be at Walker Field at Fort Stewart today-Sunday. Highlights of the carnival visit are a pie-eating contest at 8 p.m. Friday and Battleship and Pong beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday. Carnival hours are 5-11 p.m. Thursday; 5 p.m. –midnight Friday; noon until midnight Saturday and 1-10 p.m. Sunday. Tickets may be purchased at Walker Field. All-you-can-ride arm band is $25. Single tickets are $1. Buy 24 tickets for $20, 50 tickets for $40. For more information, call 912-767-6212.

WEAR PURPLE THURSDAYS IN OCTOBER:
Each Thursday, we encourage our Community to wear purple.  Why purple? Purple is the symbolic color for domestic violence awareness. In the United States military, the Purple Heart is presented to those who have been wounded while serving. Wear purple as a way to tell others why that ending domestic violence is important to you. Please consider taking pictures of your staff members, FRG, office decorations, ECT if wearing Purple on Thursdays.   If you send them to me, we will publish on the ACS Facebook page and we can push this initiative farther. TEEN COSTUME DANCE AT STEWART YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER, Friday:

4 PERSON GOLF SCRAMBLE AT TAYLORS CREEK, Friday:
703rd BSB is hosting a 4 person golf scramble Friday, at Taylors Creek Golf Course. The cost is $25 per player, which includes golf cart and two mulligans. Golf club rental is available for an additional $5. Registration and driving range opens at 0900, rules brief at 0945, followed by shotgun start at 1000. HUNTER ROAD TEMPORARY CLOSURE DURING MEMORIAL EVENT, effective Friday:
North Lightning Rd. from Nightstalker Way to the north end of 2/3 AVN Hangar, located on Hunter will temporarily close to vehicular traffic 6:30-noon on Friday to allow 3/160th SOAR(A) to conduct a Memorial Event and Building Dedication. There will be a temporary bypass through the Coast Guard Station parking lot from 6:30-9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon. The road closure will affect traffic traveling on N. Lightning Rd. towards the HAAF Small Arms Range.  Motorist should plan accordingly to avoid delays. For more information, contact Garrison Headquarters, 912-315-5686/5038/6904/3671.
