COMMANDING GENERAL’S GOLF SCRAMBLE AT TAYLORS CREEK GOLF COURSE, Friday (Feb. 27):
Be a part of the camaraderie, team-building and golfing fun during the Commanding General’s four-person scramble at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Friday (Feb.... 27). CONTROLLED BURNING, ongoing:
Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various locations on the Installation each week. ACS ROLE PLAYERS WANTED:

TRAINING RESOURCE CONFERENCE, Feb. 24:
S-3's, Operations Sergeants Major, Master Gunners and Schools NCO's are reminded that the next monthly Training Resource Conference will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24 9:30 a.m. at Moon Theater. We will schedule training devices, ranges and training areas through August 2015. The next conference will not be until March 31.


HUNTER ASAP TRAINING, Feb. 26:
Hunter Army Airfield’s Army Substance Abuse Program will conduct Quarterly Substance Abuse Prevention and Awareness Training, 9-10, 10:15-11:15 a.m. 1-2 p.m. and 2:15-3:15 hours Feb. 26 at the Hunter Post Theater, Bldg 1282.  All units are encouraged to take advantage of this training opportunity. COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY, now open:

2015 ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF: 
Army Emergency Relief – Making a Difference. The AER campaign runs from March 1st through May 15th with the goal of creating greater awareness of the benefits of AER as well as providing Soldiers the opportunity to donate to their fellow Soldiers. EARN CREDITS WITH MARCH EDUCATIONAL KICKOFF:
March is Traumatic Brain Awareness Month and the Stewart-Hunter Medical Activity Commands begins recognition with a TBI Educational Forum, which provides continuing education credits. This free Webinar-forum is scheduled 1-3 p.m., Monday, March 2 at Winn Army Community Hospital in the Patriot Auditorium to persons who actively provide TBI/psychological care to active duty Service members, Reservists, National Guardsmen, military veterans and/or their families. GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISOR TRAINING-FS, Mar. 5 and Mar. 20:
The Garrison Commander will conduct mandatory training for all Garrison Civilian Supervisors and those in uniform that supervise Garrison Civilians, AF and NAF Mar. 5 from 1-2 p.m. and Mar. 20 from 9-10 a.m. at the Fort Stewart Education Center Auditorium. A make-up session will be held Mar. 25 from 9-10 a.m. in the Garrison Conference Room, Bldg. 624. Sign-in begins 30 minutes prior to start time. RED CROSS SPAGHETTI DINNER, Mar. 6:
Get Carb loaded and ready for the Run for Red 5K at the Red Cross Spaghetti Dinner, Friday, Mar. 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Victory Chapel, Bldg. 2125, 374 Warrior Rd.  Invite your supporters, and pre-register for the 5K.   The event is planned and executed together with Club Beyond, which will receive the proceeds of the event.  RUN FOR RED 5K, Mar. 7:
Registration for the run will be open until 7:30 a.m. Runners can check in until shortly before the start.  The run starts at 9 a.m. Top finishers will receive a medal in their age group. STATE OF THE GARRISON, Apr. 14 and Apr. 16:
Col. Kevin Gregory, US Army Garrison Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander, will conduct the bi-annual Fort Stewart State of the Garrison, Tues. Apr. 14, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Main Post Chapel.  Lt. Col. Will Bowman, Garrison Commander, Hunter Army Airfield, will conduct the Hunter State of the Garrison Thurs., Apr. 16, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Hunter Chapel.  Topics include IMCOM CG priorities, Leadership change, Things We Are Proud Of, What's Next, Resources, and Awards.  The State of the Garrison is a bi-annual event to share information with the workforce, and are open to all Garrison employees.

CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA AT HUNTER, Saturday (Feb. 28):
Watch two-person crews try to navigate the length of the Tominac Fitness Center’s pool in a boat they made using only cardboard and duct tape. The fun begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 28). STEWART/HUNTER POST-WIDE HOUSING GARAGE SALE REGISTRATION BEGINS, March 2:
Registration begins March 2 for the Great FMWR Post-Wide Housing Garage Sale, scheduled April 25 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Stewart/Hunter. No charge to register or sell. Registration ensures your site is on a map of sale sites for potential buyers.  Only residents of post housing are eligible to sell, but everyone is invited to purchase at sales throughout Stewart/Hunter post housing areas. Run or walk the 5K or 1.5-mile course along N. Perimeter Road during Hunter’s non-competitive Shamrock Family Fun Run at 10 a.m. March 7. First 100 participants who sign up and complete the run will receive a free T-shirt (ages 12 and older). Medals for kids (under age 12). Starting point is Stephen Douglas/Perimeter Road. POWERLIFTING & BENCH PRESS CHALLENGE AT STEWART, March 14:
Sign up to compete in the Powerlifting & Bench Press Challenge at Newman Fitness Center on March 14. Contestants must be 16 or older to enter and will be placed into one of 11 different weight classes (male and female). USPF rules apply and lifting shirts allowed.  Awards to top three bench press and power lifters and each paying participant receives a T-shirt. Early registration (now through Feb. 28) is $20 per competitor. The fee is $25 per person from March 1 until the day of competition. MARNE TRAIL BASS TOURNAMENT AT PINEVIEW LAKE, March 21:
The Marne Trail Bass Tournament, a catch-and-release event, will be held at 6:30 a.m. March 21 at Pineview Lake on Fort Stewart. Cash prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum per person) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m. Fee is $20 during Early Bird Registration (until Saturday, Feb. 28) for Active Duty Soldiers, Retirees and their Family Members and youth (15 years old and younger). REGISTRATION BEGINS FOR MANAGED HOG HUNT AT STEWART, March 28:
Hunters who would like to participate in a Managed Hog Hunt in Delta Complex at Fort Stewart on March 28 should register at the Stewart or Hunter Pass & Permit office before March 19. Gold Star Family Members, Purple Heart recipients and WTB Soldiers will receive special invitations to attend. Hunt is also open to Active Duty Soldiers and Retirees. US NAVY SEA CHANTERS CONCERT, Feb. 23:

DISC DOGATHON, Mar. 7 and 8:
Do you know that dogs can fly? The largest disc-dog competition series in the world is coming to Whitemarsh Island, Georgia! It’s the 2015 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championship Qualifier, Saturday and Sunday, March 7th and 8th, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Islands High School, 170 Whitemarsh Island Rd., Savannah, where athletic canines can be seen, literally, jumping for joy.  The event benefits Pets for Vets, an organization that is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training, and pairing them with America’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.  Attendance is free of charge. St. PATRICK'S DAY IN SAVANNAH, March 14-17:

Shuttles run from the Eastside at the Island Towne Centre, Southside at the Savannah Mall or Westside shopping center to downtown Savannah.
