VETERANS PARKWAY TRAFFIC ALERT, beg. today:
Utility work along Veterans Parkway will require partial lane closures from Feb.  26 to March 19 for the removal of old utilities from under the roadway.  Motorists could experience delays and should use extra caution in this area.  The POC for this action is Matt Bolen, DPW Project Manager, 912-767-7898.   

 

CONTROLLED BURNING, ongoing:

Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various locations on the Installation each week. COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY, now open: 

The 2015 Community Needs Assessment Survey (CNAS) is open!  All community members, including Soldiers, Family Members, DA Civilians, Contractors, and Retirees are encouraged to take the survey.  The CNAS can be found at http://tinyurl.com/CNAS2015 .  All survey answers are anonymous and the results are used to determine ways to improve the Fort Stewart and HAAF communities.  For more information, contact Division Health Promotion at 435-9959 or 435-0875.

 

HUNTER VEHICLE REGISTRATION OFFICE CLOSED, Feb 26-27: The Hunter Army Airfield Vehicle Registration Office will be closed Feb. 26 and 27 and is scheduled to reopen March 2.  For more information, contact Chester Colbert at (912) 767-9593.

FORT STEWART DINING FACILITY OPERATING HOURS, March: 

Legion (Bldg 207, 660 Harmon Ave), Raider (Bldg 642, 1312 William H. Wilson Ave) Thunder Café (Bldg 3003, 1600 W. 6th Street), and Vanguard (Bldg 8439, Vanguard Road) DFACs will be open for weekday breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals, Monday - Friday.  Weekend/holiday hours begin with the supper meal on Friday. FS WEEKEND/HOLIDAY DFAC: 

Dining Facilities open for Weekend/Holiday meals are Thunder Café and Vanguard DFACs.  Vanguard DFAC will be closed after the lunch meal on 13 March and will reopen with the breakfast meal on 16 March. Designated Weekend and Holiday Meal DFACs begin with the supper meal on Friday.  Hours are Brunch 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Supper 5-6:30 p.m.

 

FS WEEKDAY MEAL HOURS:

The Fort Stewart Weekday Meal hours are Breakfast 7:30-9 a.m.; Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; and Dinner 5-6:30 p.m.  Thursday Breakfast hours are; Legion 6-8 a.m.; Raider 5-6:30 a.m.; Thunder Café 5-6:30 a.m.; and Vanguard 7:30-9 a.m.; Lunch and Dinner Meal Hours for all DFAC's on Thursday are; Lunch from Noon to 1:30 p.m.; and Dinner from 5-6:30 p.m.  Friday Dinner Meal hours are 4-5:30 p.m.

GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISOR TRAINING-FS, Mar. 5 and Mar. 20:

The Garrison Commander will conduct mandatory training for all Garrison Civilian Supervisors and those in uniform that supervise Garrison Civilians, AF and NAF Mar. 5 from 1-2 p.m. and Mar. 20 from

9-10 a.m. at the Fort Stewart Education Center Auditorium. A make-up session will be held Mar. 25 from 9-10 a.m. in the Garrison Conference Room, Bldg. 624. RED CROSS SPAGHETTI DINNER, Mar. 6:

Get Carb loaded and ready for the Run for Red 5K at the Red Cross Spaghetti Dinner, Friday, Mar. 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Victory Chapel, Bldg. 2125, 374 Warrior Rd.  Invite your supporters, and pre-register for the 5K.   The event is planned and executed together with Club Beyond, which will receive the proceeds of the event. RUN FOR RED 5K, Mar. 7:

Registration for the run will be open until 7:30 a.m. Runners can check in until shortly before the start.  The run starts at 9 a.m. Top finishers will receive a medal in their age group. Refreshments are available for all participants. This is a Red Cross event supported by Club Beyond. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.  Call 912-767-2197 for more information.

 

2015 ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF: 

Army Emergency Relief – Making a Difference. The AER campaign runs from March 1st through May 15th with the goal of creating greater awareness of the benefits of AER as well as providing Soldiers the opportunity to donate to their fellow Soldiers. MONTHLY TOBACCO CESSATION CLASSE, March 18:

LARGE CALIBER RIFLE SHOOT, March 7:

A large caliber rifle shoot is scheduled March 7 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at SA November range. The cost is $5 for a two-hour block. Targets provided and shooting benches placed for use at each point. EXTREME COLOR RUN AT HOLBROOK POND RECREATION AREA, March 28:

Registration is under way on Active.com for the Extreme Color Run at 9 a.m. March 28. The untimed event will take runners approximately five kilometers through Holbrook Pond Recreation Area's campground and tank trails. The runners will be “colored” as they pass different color stations the length of the run. Online registration is $20 per person until March 1 and $30 from March 2-21.
