TODAY/THIS WEEK

HO HO HOLBROOK HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, starts tonight:
Holbrook Pond Recreation Area will glow with Christmas lights and illuminated decorations that will delight children and adults alike during the Ho Ho Holbrook Festival of Lights event from 5:30-8:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday. The event has all the ingredients for great Family fun: roasting marshmallows and making s’mores, time for the children to share their Christmas wishes and have their photos taken with Santa, holiday scenes that light up the campground area trail for the 15 to 20-minute hayrides, the Kiddie Train and more. The cost is just $8 per car today and $10 per car Friday and Saturday.  Cash only, please. Can’t be there for the Ho Ho Holbrook Festival of Lights? Motorists are welcome to ride through the Holbrook area at no charge and see the decorations from Dec. 14-26 during the hours of 6-9:30 p.m.

CONTROLLED BURNING: Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various locations on the Installation each week. MAKE-UP GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISORY TRAINING-HAAF, Today:

SUPPLY CLOSURE, thru Friday:
The Fort Stewart Supply Support Activity will be closed through Friday to perform an annual wall to wall inventory.  Only emergency walk through's will be processed during this time.  Fort Stewart SSA POC is Mr. Kary Jenkins at (912) 435-0321.

SHIPPING OFFICE CLOSURE, Today:
The Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Personal Property Shipping Offices will be closed today starting at 11:30 a.m. and will re-open with normal business hours Friday. For emergencies individuals may call 767-4211.

PBO & SSMO CLOSURE, Friday:
The Fort Stewart Property Book Office and Supply Subsistence Management Office will be closed Friday starting at 11 a.m. and will re-open with normal business hours Monday. For emergencies individuals may call 912-435-0240.

DPW CLOSURE, Friday:
DPW will be closed on Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. due to their holiday party and will resume business on Monday at 7:30 a.m. However, the Service Order desk will be operational for any work order needs.  The Service Order desk can be reached at 912-767-2883 (Fort Stewart) and 912-315-4003 (HAAF).

SJA OFFICE CLOSURE, Friday:
The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate will close on Friday at 11:30 due to an office function. For more information, call 912-767-7262.

DECEMBER/OTHER HEADLINES

EQCC MEETING, Monday:
IAW AR 200-1, the Garrison Commander will chair the Environmental Quality Control Committee Meeting Monday at the FS Central Energy Plant (Bldg 1412) on McFarland Avenue. The meeting will be held from 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m. and will commence with a compliance update, which will be followed by  an award presentation by the Garrison Commander. Participants will then be divided into groups and escorted to various sections of the Central Energy Plant. The EQCC helps the Installation in meeting environmental management responsibilities. Brigade representation, Garrison Directors, Rear Detachments, Tenant Orgs, and Environmental Compliance Officers are required to attend or send a representative. WARRIOR LEADER COURSE GRADUATION, Tuesday:

RECYCLE YOUR LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE, Dec. 26-Jan. 9:
In support of its annual Bring One for the Chipper campaign, Keep Fort Stewart-HAAF Beautiful will be collecting live Christmas Trees from Dec. 26-Jan. 9. Drop-off locations are the PX parking lots on Fort Stewart and Hunter. The trees will be used either as fish and wildlife habitats throughout the Installation or will be mulched for use at the Fort Stewart Central Energy Plant. TAX CENTERS FOR FORT STEWART AND HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Jan. 29:
Tax season is almost here! The Marne Tax Centers at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be open Jan. 29-April 30. Tax Preparers will be available to assist Solders, Family Members, and Retirees from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full service assistance for walk-in or drop-off returns. NEW RESILIENCY TRAINING, Jan. 12-15:

TURKEY SHOOT AT HUNTER, today:
Turkey Shoot scheduled for 6 p.m. today at Hunter Skeet & Trap Range, building 8250 (off S. Perimeter Road) is open to all. Winner receives a $20 gift certificate. PASS & PERMIT RIFLE RANGE TO CLOSE THIS WEEKEND, OTHER DATES Due to mandatory maintenance and environmental work in the B4 training area, the Pass & Permit Rifle Range will be closed this weekend (Dec. 13-14) and on a number of other dates during December and January.
