GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISOR TRAINING-FS, Today & Friday:
The Garrison Commander will conduct mandatory training for all Garrison Civilian Supervisors and those in uniform that supervise Garrison Civilians, AF and NAF today from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the Main Post Chapel. A make-up session will be held Dec. 10 from 9-10 a.m. in the Garrison Conference Room, building 624. Sign-in begins 30 minutes prior to start time. RECYCLE INFORMATION:
In FY14, Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield together recycled 247,880 pounds of plastic.  This equates to approximately 123 tons of plastic not going to our landfill. It is amazing what we can do when we all work together! By continuing to work together we will meet our goal and reduce solid waste by 50 percent by 2015. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle! FORT STEWART DINING FACILITY OPERATING HOURS, December:
Legion (building 207, 660 Harmon Ave), Raider (building 642, 1312 William H. TAX CENTERS FOR FORT STEWART AND HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Jan. 29:
Tax season is almost here! The Marne Tax Centers at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be open Jan. 29-April 30. Tax Preparers will be available to assist Solders, Family Members, and Retirees from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full service assistance for walk-in or drop-off returns. ADDICTION RECOVERY GROUP, Tuesdays:
A 12-step addiction recovery group begins meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Winn Hospital Chapel.  This is a faith-based program sponsored by the hospital's Unit Ministry Team (UMT. FORT STEWART SPOUSE ONE OF SIX OPERATION RISING STAR FINALISTS:
Celeste Betton, wife of Staff Sgt. Kevin L. Betton Jr., a Fort Stewart Chaplain’s Assistant, is one of six finalists who will compete in the Army-wide Operation Rising Star competition. Finals week is scheduled for Saturday-Dec. 12 at the Fort Sam Houston Theatre, home of Army Entertainment. Shows are recorded with a live audience Saturday, Dec. 8, 10 and 12. The finals can be viewed at www.OpRisingStar.com, Sunday, Dec. 9 and 11, beginning at 9 a.m. (CT), each day. Viewers will have 24 hours to vote for their favorite performers after each round. The winner will be revealed Dec. 13, at www.OpRisingStar.com., where the contest rules also are posted. Mrs. Betton won top prize in the Stewart/Hunter competition to advance to the finals. She is featured in a story scheduled to appear in the Dec. 4 issue of the Frontline newspaper.

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY AT STEWART, Thursday:
The Christmas tree outside Club Stewart will come to life at the Tree Lighting Ceremony, starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.  There’s no charge. Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Gluhwein will be available for sale. Seasonal music by 3rd ID Band, plus High School Chorus and cheerleaders. Santa Claus will be available for pictures, so bring your cameras. Santa will arrive and the colorfully decorated tree outside Hunter Club, building 6015, will come to life during the Tree Lighting Ceremony starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Also featured are kiddie train rides. Seasonal music performed by 3rd ID Band and school chorus. Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Gluhwein will be available for sale. Santa will be available for pictures, so bring your cameras. Trees for Troops give away to Active Duty Soldiers and Family Members will take place immediately following the Tree Lighting Ceremony on a first-come, first-served basis. BOSS CAR, TRUCK AND BIKE SHOW AT HUNTER, Saturday:
BOSS will present a Car, Truck & Bike Show on Saturday (Dec. 6) in the Hunter Army Airfield PX parking lot. The event is free and open to the public. Bike categories will be overall, cruiser and sport. Car/truck categories will be classic, new muscle, new import (2005 plus) old import, best truck/SUV, best overall, and most modified. Contestants may register at 10 a.m. on the day of the event. The cost is $20 per vehicle and $10 per bike. TREES FOR TROOPS DISTRIBUTION AT STEWART, Saturday:
Free, donated Christmas trees will be given to Active Duty Soldiers and Families on a first-come, first-served basis at Newman Fitness Center, building 439, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday while supplies last. This is the ninth year that The Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx have partnered to provide the trees. Military ID card required. Also, free Christmas tree stands will be given out by AAFES while supplies last. For more information, call 912-767-6212.

PLAY DAY WITH SANTA AT CORKAN, Saturday: 
Santa is taking a break from his busy schedule to play with his fans before the big day. He will be at Stewart Bowling Center, building 450, from 1-3 p.m. and Corkan Family Fun Center, building 449, from 3:15-5 p.m. on Saturday. HOLIDAY BRUNCH WITH SANTA, Sunday:

RED PIN BOWLING RETURNING AT STEWART BOWLING CENTER, Sunday & Dec. 28:
Stewart Bowling Center, building 450, is bringing back its favorite game – Red Pin Bowling – on the first and last Sunday of each month. From 6-9 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 28, when the red pin comes down in the number one position, notify a staff member and if you roll a strike and you win a free game of bowling. HO HO HO HOLBROOK HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, Dec. 11-13:
Holbrook Pond Recreation Area will glow with Christmas lights and illuminated decorations that will delight children and adults alike during the Ho Ho Holbrook Festival of Lights event from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-13. The event has all the ingredients for great Family fun: roasting marshmallows and making s’mores, time for the children to share their Christmas wishes and have their photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday scenes that light up the campground area trail for the 15 to 20-minute hayrides, the Kiddie Train, gifts and treats for sale at the new Kringle Market, and much more. The cost is just $8 per car on Thursday and $10 per car Friday and Saturday.  Cash only, please. Can’t be there for the Ho Ho Holbrook Festival of Lights? HUNTER TURKEY SHOOT, Dec. 11:
Turkey Shoot scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at Hunter Skeet & Trap Range, building 8250 (off S. Perimeter Road) is open to all. Winner receives a $20 gift certificate.
