TODAY/THIS WEEK

200 BLOCK REPAIR WORK, Today (March 2):
Repair work will continue on the high temperature steam line rupture in the 200 Block near the vicinity of Facility 412, Troop Clinic.  Facilities affected in that area are the following: 206, 207, 208, 211, 212, 213, 215, 216, 217, 218, 223, 224, 225 and 228.  Listed facilities will lose their hot water and facility heating capacities for the duration of the repair.  Repairs will begin again at 7:30 a.m. March 2 and will continue until complete.  Make all precautions to keep doors shut to limit heat loss in the facilities during this time frame.

ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF, March-May 15: 
Army Emergency Relief – Making a Difference. The AER campaign runs from March 1 through May 15 with the goal of creating greater awareness of the benefits of AER as well as providing Soldiers the opportunity to donate to their fellow Soldiers. EARN CREDITS WITH MARCH EDUCATIONAL KICKOFF, Today:
March is Traumatic Brain Awareness Month and the Stewart-Hunter Medical Activity Commands begins recognition with a TBI Educational Forum, which provides continuing education credits. This free Webinar-forum is scheduled 1-3 p.m., Today, March 2 at Winn Army Community Hospital in the Patriot Auditorium to persons who actively provide TBI/psychological care to active duty Service members, Reservists, National Guardsmen, military veterans and/or their families. NEW SOLDIER FINANCE CUSTOMER SERVICE HOURS, Today:
Effective Today, Monday March 2, there are new Solider Finance customer Service Hours - 1 to 3 p.m. on Mondays; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Closed Daily for lunch noon to 1 p.m.; and closed all DONSAs and Training Holidays.

VETERANS PARKWAY TRAFFIC ALERT, Ongoing:
Utility work along Veterans Parkway will require partial lane closures through March 19 for the removal of old utilities from under the roadway.  Motorists could experience delays and should use extra caution in this area.  The POC for this action is Mr. Matt Bolen (DPW Project Manager) at 912-767-7898.

GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISOR TRAINING-FS, Mar. 5 and Mar. 20:
The Garrison Commander will conduct mandatory training for all Garrison Civilian Supervisors and those in uniform that supervise Garrison Civilians, AF and NAF Mar. 5 from 1-2 p.m. and Mar. 20 from 9-10 a.m. at the Fort Stewart Education Center Auditorium. A make-up session will be held Mar. 25 from 9-10 a.m. in the Garrison Conference Room, Bldg. 624. Sign-in begins 30 minutes prior to start time. HUNTER FIRE WARDEN CLASS: 
The next HAAF fire warden’s class will be held March 05 at 9 a.m. in Fire Station Number 2 Building 1295. All attendees are asked to bring a unit appointment letter stating they are the assigned fire warden for their unit/location with building number identified. RED CROSS SPAGHETTI DINNER, Mar. 6:
Get Carb loaded and ready for the Run for Red 5K at the Red Cross Spaghetti Dinner, Friday, Mar. 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Victory Chapel, Bldg. 2125, 374 Warrior Rd.  Invite your supporters, and pre-register for the 5K.   The event is planned and executed together with Club Beyond, which will receive the proceeds of the event. RUN FOR RED 5K, Mar. 7:
Registration for the run will be open until 7:30 a.m. Runners can check in until shortly before the start.  The run starts at 9 a.m. Top finishers will receive a medal in their age group. ASAP TRAINING, March 11:

GARRISON HAND RECIEPT TRAINING, March 12:
The Logistics Readiness Center will provide Annual Garrison Hand Receipt/Command Supply Discipline training to Garrison Hand Receipt Holders, CDSP Monitors, and Credit Card Approving Officials on 12 March from 1-3 p.m. at Building 1065, in the upstairs classroom.  This training is an annual FY training requirement and seating is limited.  For additional information or to reserve a seat, please contact Amanda Holmes at 435-0179.

Will Bowman, Garrison Commander, Hunter Army Airfield, will conduct the Hunter State of the Garrison Thurs., Apr. 16, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Hunter Chapel.  Topics include IMCOM CG priorities, Leadership change, Things We Are Proud Of, What's Next, Resources, and Awards.  The State of the Garrison is a bi-annual event to share information with the workforce, and are open to all Garrison employees.

STEWART/HUNTER POST-WIDE HOUSING GARAGE SALE REGISTRATION BEGINS, Today:
Registration begins March 2 for the Great FMWR Post-Wide Housing Garage Sale, scheduled April 25 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Stewart/Hunter. No charge to register or sell. Registration ensures your site is on a map of sale sites for potential buyers.  Only residents of post housing are eligible to sell, but everyone is invited to purchase at sales throughout Stewart/Hunter post housing areas. LARGE CALIBER RIFLE SHOOT, Saturday (March 7):
 A large caliber rifle shoot is scheduled Saturday (March 7) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at SA November range. The cost is $5 for a two-hour block. Targets provided and shooting benches placed for use at each point. All weapons must re-registered on the installation to fire at this range. SHAMROCK FAMILY FUN RUN AT HUNTER, Saturday (March 7):

POWERLIFTING & BENCH PRESS CHALLENGE AT STEWART, March 14:
The Powerlifting & Bench Press Challenge will be held at Newman Fitness Center on March 14. The Marne Trail Bass Tournament, a catch-and-release event, will be held at 6:30 a.m. March 21 at Pineview Lake on Fort Stewart. EXTREME COLOR RUN AT HOLBROOK POND RECREATION AREA, March 28:
Registration is under way on Active.com for the Extreme Color Run at 9 a.m. March 28. The untimed event will take runners approximately five kilometers through Holbrook’s campground and tank trails. The runners will be “colored” as they pass different color stations the length of the run. Online registration is $30 per person until March 21. The fee is $40 at sign-up table on day of event. DISC DOGATHON, Mar. 7 and 8:
Do you know that dogs can fly? The largest disc-dog competition series in the world is coming to Whitemarsh Island, Georgia! It’s the 2015 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championship Qualifier, Saturday and Sunday, March 7th and 8th, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Islands High School, 170 Whitemarsh Island Rd., Savannah, where athletic canines can be seen, literally, jumping for joy.  The event benefits Pets for Vets, an organization that is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training, and pairing them with America’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.  Attendance is free of charge. St. PATRICK'S DAY IN SAVANNAH, March 14-17:

SAVANNAH STATE NROTC HOSTS MARINE CORPS BATTLE COLOR CEREMONY, March 22: 
The Savannah State University Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit hosts the Marines the Marine Corps Battle Color Ceremony, March 22 at 5 p.m. at the T.A. Wright Stadium on the campus of Savannah State University; which is free and open to the public.  The Battle Color Detachment (BCD) is based out of historic Marine Barracks Washington, DC and is comprised of the US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, The US Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, and the Official US Marine Corps Color Guard.  The BCD acts as the Commandant of the Marine Corps' Ceremonial Maneuver Element and showcases the pride, precision and esprit de corps of the Marines to audiences around the world.  Featured is their 'Music in Motion' drill program by the Drum & Bugle Corps, the Silent Drill program by the Drill team, a presentation of the National Colors, and a Military Pass-in-review in front of a Reviewing Official. 

TELFAIR MUSEUMS OFFER FREE ADMISSION TO MILITARY, through Veterans Day 2015:
The promotion is available to all retired and active-duty service members as well as those in the Reserves.
