BREWS & BITES AT CLUB STEWART, tonight

LEGAL OFFICE CLOSURES, Friday, Monday: 
The Fort Stewart and Hunter Legal Assistance Offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 16 and Monday Jan. 19 for the Division Training holiday and the MLK holiday.  Normal operations will resume Tuesday, Jan 20.

RANGE CONTROL CLOSURE:
Range Control will close for Martin Luther King, Jr Weekend beginning 10:30 p.m., Friday, Jan 16 and will reopen 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20.

EFMP PANCAKE BREAKFAST, Friday:

HAAF CENTRAL ENERGY PLANT OUTAGE, Friday:
The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Directorate of Public Works will conduct some gas valve replacements Friday from 9 a.m.-UTC. This will affect hot water and heating in the following buildings: 1509, 1505, 1506, 1511, 1512, 1527, 1530, 1525, 1529, and 1531. For more information, contact James Maddox at 912-767-5027.

CONTROLLED BURNING, ongoing:
Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various locations on the Installation each week. JANUARY/OTHER HEADLINES

ROAD CLOSURE FOR MLK PARADE, Jan. 19:
The Hinesville Police Dept. will block General Screven Way for the MLK Parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and usually lasts 1 1/2 hours. Plan is to stop all southbound traffic on General Screven Way at 9:45 a.m. and remain this way until the entire parade has proceeded down General Screven Way and onto West Hendry Street. You will only be able to turn left unto General Stewart Way or right onto Sanders Avenue during this time. For more information, call 912-767-6328.

STEWART ROAD CLOSURES, Jan. 19-April 17:
Niles Avenue will be closed from E. 16th Street to Steel Avenue from Jan. 19 to April 17. 4Th Street and Gate 2 will be closed Jan. 19 to April 17. Work will also be accomplished on Austin Road from Jan. 19 to March 19. Austin Road will not be closed. Traffic will be directed by flagmen. Motorist are advised to use extreme caution during these closures.  The closures are necessary to repave the roads.  POC for this construction effort is Jim Shurling at 912-320-0472.

STEWART POWER OUTAGE, Jan. 19:
The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Directorate of Public Works will conduct a power outage as part of the Veteran's Parkway road widening project. This is scheduled for Jan. 19 from 8 a.m. until closing. Buildings affected are: 1198, 1199, 1113, 1116, 1099, 1111, 1110, 1109, 1122, 1120, 1178, 1114, 1139, 1135, 1129, 1137, 1140, 1141, 1123, 1124, 1125, 1183B, 1180, 1186, 1182, 1168, 1184.  For more information, contact James Maddox at 912-767-5027.

TAX CENTERS OPEN, Jan. 29:
Tax season is almost here! The Marne Tax Centers at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be open Jan. 29-April 30. Tax Preparers will be available to assist Solders, Family Members, and Retirees from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full service assistance for walk-in or drop-off returns. Please bring military IDs and Social Security Cards, all statements of income (i.e., W-2 forms and 1099 forms), rental property documents, mortgage interest statements, etc. For more information, please call the Fort Stewart Tax Center at (912) 767-1040 or the Hunter Army Airfield Tax Center at (912) 315-3675.

FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS, Jan. 26:
This free class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. Certification is good for one year. To register for this class, please submit your first and last name to Mrs. Richele Martinez, Richele.L.Martinez.civ@mail.mil by COB Jan. 22.  Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted.  This class is mandated for all those dealing with food items on FSGA/HAAF (Unit functions, Organizational Days, FRG Events). ADPASS:
The Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPASS) is the Army's way of accounting for personnel and family members following disasters. All Soldiers, civilians, and family members are required to report their status following an emergency in ADPAAs if directed to do so by the Secretary of the Army or their Major Commands.  ADPAAS is a web-based system and is the only way the Army will accept status reports following a disaster. STEWART PET BOARDING FACILITY ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR CATS, LARGE DOGS:
Pet Boarding is now accepting reservations for cats and large dogs. An extensive renovation project that added 24 additional kennel spaces and shaded exercise yards has just been completed. Grooming, boarding and doggie day care is offered at the facility, located off Highway 144 East in building 8324.  Nine cats can be accommodated in the cat room. PASS & PERMIT RIFLE RANGE CLOSED JAN. 17, 19, 24:

MARNE MESSAGE SUBMISSIONS:
The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).

WANT TO GET MARNE MESSAGES?:
