 “TAKE ACTION” FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION CLASS, PLANNED, Tuesday:

FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS PLANNED, Tuesday:

This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 1-2:00 pm. This is a FREE class and certification is good for one year. EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM WORKSHOP SLATED, Thursday, Friday:

STEWART FUEL FACILITIES CLOSURE, Friday:

The Fort Stewart Fuel Facility will close from noon to 5:00 p.m. to conduct end of year Close Out.  The facility will reopen at 5:01 p.m.  Customers will need to obtain fuel prior to closure of facilities on September 25. HAAF FUEL FACILITIES CLOSURE, Friday:

The Hunter Army Fuel Facility will be closed all day to conduct end of year close out.  The Hunter AAF fuel facility will reopen at 12:01 a.m., September 26. SUICIDE PREVENTION PRESENTATION SCHEDULED, Friday In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, this Installation will host Dr. Mark L De Santis, Neuropsychologist, will provide a brief lecture on Suicide Prevention and will present the HBO Oscar winning documentary on the Veteran crisis line. TRICARE PHARMACY BENEFIT CHANGE, Ongoing message:

Beginning October 1, beneficiaries must get some brand name maintenance drugs filled through home delivery or at a military pharmacy (per 2015 National Defense Authorization Act). This doesn't apply to active duty service members, beneficiaries living overseas, and those with other prescription drug coverage. Beneficiaries can call Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303 for help switching to home delivery.

 

TRICARE BENEFICIARIES URGED NOT TO USE MEDICAL FACILITIES, Ongoing message:

Beneficiaries should be advised to not to utilize urgent care facilities that require up-front payments or that do not accept ANY medical insurances. Some of these facilities, located in Historic Savannah, Midtown, Tybee Island, Whitmarsh Island, and Pooler, will advise you to pay all charges out of pocket and encourage you to file for reimbursement. If you choose to use these facilities, be prepared NOT to be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses for services rendered. Charges are NOT reimbursable by TRICARE and therefore reimbursement will not get processed even with a referral. UPDATE MISSING DEERS INFORMATION, Ongoing message:

The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) has mailed letters to sponsors and families indicating DEERS is missing or has incorrect information (e.g. SSNs missing, names and birth dates in Social Security). For tax year 2015, DMDC will report minimum essential coverage (MEC) status to the IRS. Sponsors must ensure EACH family member's DEERS information is correct, with a valid SSN. To get help, beneficiaries should visit an ID-card office or email or call the DMDC Support Office (dodhra.dodc-mb.dmdc.mbx.webmaster@mail.mil or 1-800-538-9552 (TTY/TDD: 1-866-363-2883).

 

CHECK YOUR LES FOR ANNUAL REPORTING REQUIREMENTS, Ongoing message:

Effective January 2016, Federal Agencies will be required to furnish annual reporting requirements to each full-time employee, as defined under the Affordable Care Act. This form will provide information on their Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) enrollment in the prior year.  DFAS will provide this form to employees via MyPay or by mail, if elected. Employees are required to submit this document when they file federal taxes annually.

 

Employees are encouraged to log into your myPay Caution-mypay.dfas.mil/mypay.aspx account and from the main menu, select "Turn On/Off Hard Copy of IRS Form 1095."  Electronic delivery is the fastest and most secure method to receive the form once it becomes available. To ensure you receive this electronically, you will need to opt in to receive an electronic copy of the Form 1095 as soon as possible and no later than September 30, 2015. FORT STEWART DINING FACILITY OPERATING HOURS, September: 

The Fort Stewart and HAAF Dining Facilities cordially invite DA Civilians and Family Members to dine with us at Legion (Bldg. 207, 660 Harmon Ave and Thunder Café (Bldg. 3003, 1600 W. 6th Street). The DFACs will be open for weekday breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals, Monday-Friday. Weekend/holiday hours begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday, September 4, the weekend designated DFAC begins with supper on September 3. FS WEEKDAY MEAL HOURS: The Fort Stewart Weekday Meal hours are Breakfast 7:30-9:00 a.m.; Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; and Dinner 5-6:30 p.m.  Thursday Breakfast hours are; Legion 6-8:00 a.m.; Thunder Café 5-6:30 a.m.; and Spartan 7:30-9:00 a.m.; Lunch and Dinner Meal Hours for all DFAC's on Thursday are; Lunch from Noon to 1:30 p.m.; and Dinner from 5-6:30 p.m.  Friday Dinner Meal hours are 4-5:30 p.m.

SHOW CAUTION AS THE AREA IS IMPROVED, now through November 6:

Georgia Power will be clearing trees and vegetation on the Northern side of Hero Road from the Georgia Power Substation to Fort Stewart road 47. HUNTER TRAFFIC WARNING FOR NORTH PERIMETER ROAD, now through December 07: 

Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Hunter Army Airfield as road construction is planned for North Perimeter Road between Wilson Blvd and Gannam Ave. Detour signs and traffic control devices will be displayed for the duration of the road closure.  Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in traffic patterns.  For more information call DPW, Ben Seacrist at 912-767-3269 or 912-228-7114.

 

CHANGES TO MAILING OFFICIAL MAIL PLANNED, September 25-30:

The DHR OMDC Bldg. 418 at Fort Stewart and OMDC Bldg.1212 at Hunter Army Airfield, will not be Metering Official Mail beginning at 1:00 p.m. on September 25 – 30, due to the End of Year close-out. Please plan to have all of your Official Mail to us before that date and time. We will re-start metering mail at our regular scheduled times on October 1. STEWART MONTHLY TOBACCO CESSATION CLASS, September 30:

Army Public Health Nursing in conjunction with the Army Wellness Center Clinic is conducting Monthly Tobacco Cessation classes.  The next class is from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Army Wellness Center located at Bldg.442. GATE ACCESS CREDENTIAL CHANGE, beginning Oct. 1:

The RAPIDGate Credentials that were issued to Contractors and Vendors for access either Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield from any of the Access Control Points will no longer be used as a tool or method to access either Installations on the effective date.  Military CAC, DA Civilian CAC, Family Member ID Cards, Retiree ID Cards and AIE Access Cards are not affected by the discontinued use of the RAPIDGate Credential. SPECIALIZED TRANSITIONING EVENT PLANNED, November 5 The Soldier & Family Assistance Center is scheduled to host Growth, Progression and Strength event from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Stewart Main Post Chapel. The target audience for the event includes Warrior Transition Battalion Soldiers, their family members and caregivers. REGISTER FOR COMPANY-LEVEL DODGEBALL LEAGUE AT HUNTER, Ongoing:

Companies interested in competing in a dodgeball league can sign up at Tominac Fitness Center, Bldg. 919, until Sept. 28. There is no charge to compete. 2015 FORT STEWART/LIBERTY COUNTY COLLEGE PROBE SCHEDULED, Friday:

NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK COMPETITION PLANNED, Friday:

Boys and girls ages 6-15 will participate in all three events (punt, pass, kick) for a total score and a chance to advance to the sectional competition. Competition will be 5:30 p.m. at Youth Sports Football Complex on Green Street, Fort Stewart. Boys and girls compete separately. Participants must have a proof of age and register at Youth Sports and Fitness Center, Bldg. 7338. Only gym shoes can be worn for competition. PARTICIPATE IN KIDS FISHING EVENT AT HUNTER, Saturday:

Last bass tournament this year, when Angler of the Year will be awarded. FOOT GOLF TOURNAMENT AT TAYLORS CREEK PLANNED, Saturday:

Taylors Creek Golf Course will host a Foot Golf Tournament Saturday. Registration will be at 11:30 a.m. and kickoff will be at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per player if the player has a number 5 soccer ball. Cost to rent a soccer ball is $2. BINGO CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DINNERS PLANNED, Sept. 28:

Free customer appreciation dinners will be held at Fort Stewart Bingo, Bldg. 405 adjacent to Club Stewart and Hunter Bingo, Bldg. 6015 at 6:00 p.m. The dinner is free to the first 40 customers at Stewart and the first 80 customers at Hunter. Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Community Theatre will hold auditions at Newman Fitness Center for its production of “Eb Scrooge: A Southern Fried Carol.” Needed are up to 50 cast members (25 males and 25 females), as well as set designers and builders, lighting and sound technicians, plus stage hands. STEWART ADULT FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT PLANNED, October 2, 3:

A flag football double elimination tournament will be held at Bennett Sports Complex, Bldg. 471. Open to Active Duty, family members, Retirees, National Guard, and DoD Civilians who are 18 years or older.  The cost to enter is $235 per team. Teams must have a minimum of seven players or a maximum of 15. Sign-up now through Sept. 28 at Bennett Sports Complex. Games will be played at Bennett’s Sports Complex. Teams will be 7-on-7 players with a chance to win a trophy. Trophies will be presented to the first and second place teams as well as individual trophies for the first-place team members. FREE KIDS BASKETBALL CAMP AT HUNTER WITH ASU MEN’S AND WOMEN’S TEAMS SCHEDULED, Oct. 3:

Armstrong State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will conduct a free Kids Camp from 9 a.m. until noon Oct. 3 at Tominac Fitness Center, Hunter. The camp is for youth 8-17. HELP RAISE MONEY FOR THE COMMUNITY, October 3:

The Marne Community & Spouses club will host a “Boil and Baskets” auction at the Richmond Hill City Center. The MCSC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield families in the form of community outreach, academic scholarships and welfare grants. Last year MCSC donated over $30,500 back to the Marne community. This year the auction will feature a traditional low country boil, live music, door prizes along with a silent auction and much more. BRING YOUR COSTUME, RUN AT THE PEMBROKE “SPOOKTACULAR,” October 24:

Pembroke Spooktacular features a costume friendly 5K run/walk and a 10K run over and around the railroad tracks throughout the City of Pembroke from 8-11:00 a.m. And just to make this run interesting, the course runs through the local cemetery. HINESVILLE VETERANS SALUTE PLANNED, November 7:

The Hinesville Military Affairs Committee will be hosting the 3rd annual Veterans Salute on November 7 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at Bryant Commons (438 W. Oglethorpe Hwy).  The event is free and open to the public. There will be a motorcycle show, silent auction, music, vendors and more. The Marne Message is a weekly publication posted to email each Monday and to the Marne Message Blogger at http://marnemessage.blogspot.com.  The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered.

Individuals wishing to get the Marne Message, who do not have a Fort Stewart - Hunter Military Email Account, can visit the 3rd Infantry Division on Facebook page at:  www.facebook.com/3rd.Infantry.Division. If you have a Fort Stewart - Hunter Military Email Account and don’t automatically get the Marne Message, you can request an account by sending an email to “USARMY Ft Stewart 3 ID Mailbox Marne Message” or usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. IF YOU HAVE PCS'D:

If you have moved and are no longer assigned to Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield, follow these instructions to change your duty location. Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc.).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.  If you have any problems, send an email to “USARMY Ft Stewart 3 ID Mailbox Marne Message” or usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil.
