STEWART-HAAF ACCESS CONTROL POINT CLOSURES, Friday and Monday: 
Due to the Division Training holiday Friday and the Labor Day holiday Monday, the following Access Control Points will be closed:  2, 3, 4A (Austin Rd and 144E), 7 and 7C (Commercial Vehicles) on Fort Stewart; and the Wilson Gate at Hunter Army Airfield. For more information, call 912-767-1883.

ID CARD APPOINTMENT ONLY SYSTEM, Tuesday:
Effective Tuesday, September 2, 2014, the Identification Card Sections at Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield, and the Mower Processing Center begins an appointment only system. Walk-ins will no longer be allowed. Military personnel will continue to be serviced by their brigade.  Please visit the Ft. Stewart homepage to schedule an appointment at the appropriate site.  For any questions you may contact the sites at the following numbers: Ft Stewart, building 253 can be reached at 912-767-4909, Hunter AAF, building 1286 at 912-315-5726 and the Mower Processing Center, building 208 at 912-767-4051. 

WELLNESS CAMPUS OPEN HOUSE PARTY, tonight: 
Wellness Campus (Army Wellness Center and Comprehensive Soldier & Family Fitness) will host the 1st annual Open House Party, FREE!  Join us from 5-7 p.m. on 844 Gulick Ave, building 442.  You will experience fitness demonstrations, energy management demonstrations, FREE smoothie bar, equipment demonstrations and sign up for appointments.  Attendees will be automatically entered for a chance to win mini-wellness packages and our grand prize wellness basket. CLIENT SERVICES OFFICE CLOSED, Aug 29, Sept. 1: 
The Legal Assistance Office will be closed on Friday, 29 August 2014 and Monday, 1 September 2014, due to the Division Training Holiday and Labor Day.

DENTAL APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY FOR THE FSGA/HAAF DENTAL CLINICS, Aug. 28 and 29: 
 Dental Clinic #1 will be the ONLY Dental Clinic open Aug. 28 for limited sick call starting at 7:30 a.m. due to DENTAC having their yearly Organizational Day. 

Fort Stewart Dental Clinic #1 and Hunter Dental Clinic #3 will be the only dental clinics open, Friday and will provide limited Sick Call starting at 7:30 a.m.  If you have a dental emergency over the Labor Day weekend, report to Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Room and the Dentist on Duty will be called. Dental Appointments may be scheduled or rescheduled through the DENTAC Single Access Line, 435-6777.

VETERANS PARKWAY ROAD WIDENING STARTED:  Please be advised that utility construction has begun on Veterans Parkway Widening Project. Motorists need to use extreme caution when passing equipment and be aware of workers on the ground near the roadway. POC for this Project is Matt Bolen, Project Manager, DPW, at 767-7049.

LIBERTY COUNTY SATELLITE TAG OFFICE HOURS CHANGE, Sept. 2:  
Beginning Sept. 2 the Liberty County Satellite Tag Office, located at Fort Stewart in bldg 226, hours will change FROM 8:30 a.m. – noon TO 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  For more information call 767-9593.

PASSPORT OFFICE CLOSURE, through Sept. 3:
The Fort Stewart/HAAF Passport Office located at the Soldier Service Center, building 253, on Fort Stewart will be closed through Sept. 3. During this period, there will be no passport processing capabilities.  If you require assistance with passports, please contact the Passport Office at 912-767-6943 to schedule an appointment prior to Monday.  


REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY, Sept. 11:  
Remember and honor those who died Sept. 11, 2001 at a Remembrance Ceremony Sept. 11, 11 a.m. at the Main Post Chapel Sanctuary, Fort Stewart.  The guest speaker is CH (COL-RET) Michael Hoyt.  For more information please call 767-4219.  This event is open to the public.

The Fort Stewart and HAAF Dining Facilities cordially invite DA Civilians and Family Members to dine with us.  

FORT STEWART DINING FACILITY OPERATING HOURS, September:  Legion (Bldg 207, 660 Harmon Ave), Raider (Bldg 642, 1312 William H. Wilson Ave) Wheelhorse (Bldg 3003, 1600 W. 6th Street), and Vanguard (Bldg 8439, Vanguard Road) DFACs will be open for weekday breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals, Monday - Friday.  Weekend/holiday hours begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday on 29 August – 1 September, the weekend designated DFACs begins with supper on 28 August).  Dining Facility information can be found on the Team Stewart webpage at: http://www.stewart.army.mil/info.asp?e=DFAC For questions please contact 767-8761 or call the 24-hour DFAC hotline at 767-4991.

FORT STEWART WEEKEND/HOLIDAY DFAC:  Dining Facilities open for Weekend/Holiday meals are Legion and Vanguard DFACs.  Vanguard DFAC will be closed after the lunch meal on 28 August and will reopen with the breakfast meal on 2 September.  Designated Weekend and Holiday Meal DFACs begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday on 29 August – 2 September, the weekend designated DFACs begins with supper on 28 August).  Hours are Brunch 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Supper 5-6:30 p.m.

FORT STEWART WEEKDAY MEAL HOURS: The Fort Stewart Weekday Meal hours are Breakfast 7:30-9 a.m.; Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; and Dinner 5-6:30 p.m.  Thursday Breakfast hours are; Legion 6-8 a.m.; Raider 5-6:30 a.m.; Wheelhorse 5-6:30 a.m.; and Vanguard 7:30-9 a.m.; Lunch and Dinner Meal Hours for all DFAC's on Thursday are; Lunch from Noon to 1:30 p.m.; and Dinner from 5-6:30 p.m.  Friday Dinner Meal hours are 4-5:30 p.m. 

HAAF CONSOLIDATED DINING FACILITY OPERATING HOURS, September: HAAF Consolidated DFAC (Bldg 110, 89 William Barksdale Cir) Weekday Meal Hours are Breakfast 7:30-9:00 a.m.; Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; and Dinner 5-6:30 p.m.  Friday Meal Hours are breakfast 6:30-7 a.m. & 7:30-9:00 a.m.; Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; and Dinner 5-6:30 p.m. Weekend and Holiday Meal Hours are Brunch 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; and Supper 5-6:30 p.m.

DRIVE THRU FLU, Oct. 16 & 17:  
It's Flu season again.  The 2014-2015 Annual PODEX/Drive-Thru Flu Clinic will be held Oct. 16 and 17, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the WINN Hospital overflow parking lot next to Bennett's Sports Complex.  Open to DoD employees and the entire Military beneficiary population including all children 2 years of age and older.

CARO FITNESS CENTER LABOR DAY WEEKEND HOURS OF OPERATION: 
Caro Fitness Center, building 708, hours of operation will change for the upcoming holiday weekend. The center will be open Friday and Saturday (Aug. 29-30) from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. It will be closed Sunday and Monday for the Labor Day holiday and reopen Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. For more information, call 767-4763.

CARO CROSSFIT AREA CLOSED, Sept. 3-4: 
The CrossFit Area at Caro Fitness Center, building 708, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 pm. Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 3-4, in support of a Division CrossFit level 1 Trainer Course. For more information, call 767-4763.
 
SESSION TWO OF "GET GOLF READY" AT STEWART: (Register before Aug. 30.) 
Five-lesson program open to beginners and novices. Learn proper mechanics of golf, putting, short game, rules and etiquette from 10:30 a.m.-noon on Aug. 30, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Cost of $99 per person covers all five lessons. For more information, call 767-2370.

SUPERHERO CELEBRATION AT HAYS LIBRARY, Sept. 2-27: 
Celebrate your favorite superhero throughout September at George P. Hays Library, building 411. Each week, receive a superhero mission, which you have one week to complete. Complete all four missions to receive a certificate and prize and become an official member of the Library Justice League. Dress as your favorite superhero for the Grand Finale from 10 a.m. -noon Sept. 27 and complete your most challenging mission: conquering the obstacle course to save the day. There’s no charge. TOP OF THE ROCK 5K & 10K RUN FOR RESILIENCY, Sept. 6: (Register by Sept. 3.)
Run is open to the public, will have 10 age categories for male and female competitors, plus 10K Team Competition for Active Duty with a minimum of 10 members from same company. (No battalion or brigade teams will be competing as a team.) Register online only at www.ACTIVE.com <http://www.ACTIVE.com> . Trophies awarded to the top three overall 5K and 10K male and female finishers, top two finishers in each age category and top two team finishers. Participants will receive T-shirts. The run begins at 8 a.m. Sept. 6 between Newman Fitness Center and the Quick Track. Cost to register before event is $25 for DoD ID cardholders, $30 for civilian public. LONG RANGE SHOOTING, Sept. 6: 
Opportunity for Soldiers, Retirees, Army Civilians, and civilian guests to sight-in large caliber weapons Sept. 6 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Red Cloud Range Complex-Echo (off GA Hwy 119 North). Bring your rifles or muzzle loaders of any caliber. No pistols or shotguns. Targets are at 100 to 1,000 meters. Cash-only fee is $10 per two-hour block/person. “BEND-THE-BAR” POWERLIFTING AND BENCH PRESS CHALLENGE, Sept. 20 (Registration ongoing.)
Registration is under way for the Stewart/Hunter “Bend-the-Bar” Powerlifting and Bench Press Challenge at 10 a.m. Sept. 20 at 4th IBCT Fitness Center. Men and women will compete in 12 weight classes, following USPF rules. Winners must have a successful lift in squat, bench and deadlift. T-shirts will be given to each paying participant and prizes will be awarded in all weight classes. Entry fee is $15 per person until Sept. 15 and $20 per person after Sept. 15. BASS TOURNAMENT AT FORT STEWART, Sept. 27: (Registration ongoing.) 
Catch & Release Bass Tournament begins at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at Pond 26, Metz Pond at Fort Stewart. First-place prize $250, plus $100 prize for largest bass. Door prizes  and presentation of Angler of the Year Award after weigh-in. Fish from bank or launch your bass boat (trolling motors only). No live bait. Boat rentals available at Holbrook Equipment Center to Military ID Cardholders with boat safety card. Participants must have Georgia and Stewart/Hunter fishing permit (unless age 15 and under). SIGN-UP FOR "THE ROCK" BODY BUILDING & FIGURE CONTEST, Nov. 1: 
Early registration is under way for The Rock Body Building & Figure Contest Nov. 1 at Woodruff Theater on Fort Stewart. Cost to register until Oct. 17 is $25. Cost to sign up after Oct. 17 is $35. There is an additional crossover fee of $15. Sign up at Newman Fitness Center. Awards will be presented for first, second and third-place. Spectator fees are $2 for prejudging and $5 for the finals. HUNTER AAF ARMY MWR SERVICES SURVEY UNDER WAY:
 An exclusively online Army MWR Services Survey, tailored to determine present and future service and recreation needs at Hunter Army Airfield, has begun. Active Duty, spouses, retirees and DoD civilians who work, live or play at Hunter are invited to take the survey at  http://bit.ly/1AXiGTE. Responses are voluntary and confidential. The survey will take 10-15 minutes.  MWR operates facilities such as Tominac Fitness Center, the outdoor pool, golf course, outdoor recreation, School Age Services and the Auto Skills Center, to name a few. Child, Youth and School Services operations also are under MWR.

DAWN OF THE ZOMBIES 5K EARLY REGISTRATION: (until Aug. 31)

GAZING IN THE GARDEN, Aug. 30:  
The Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens hosts the Oglethorpe Astronomical Association for a night of stargazing on the Great Lawn. Telescopes provided but feel free to bring your own. FORT MCALLISTER WOUNDED WARRIOR FISHING RODEO, Sept. 20 (register by Sept. 10): 
The Fort McAllister Sports Fishing Club, ICW community sponsors, will take Soldiers fishing at both inshore and offshore locations, Sept 20 for their annual Fishing Rodeo.  Soldiers who wish to participate contact SFC Justin Scott NLT Sept. 10 (usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.comrel@mail.mil).  Purple Heart recipients and Wounded Warriors will have priority.  A Captain's picnic at J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill will take place at a date TBD for participating Soldiers to meet their boat captains. The event is free to Soldiers with fishing licenses.  Licenses can be purchased at https://www2.ga.wildlifelicense.com/index_hf.php for $9.  Families are invited to the Captain's picnic complete with live entertainment, bounce houses, food, games, and other activities for all ages.  Rodeo participants will be introduced to their boat captains at the picnic and make arrangements for their boat launches scheduled for Sept. 20.  The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Marne Messages are posted daily at www.stewart.army.mil, and www.facebook.com/3rd.Infantry.Division>. MESSAGES HAVE A 3-DAY RUN LIMIT; you may, however, re-submit after third day for continuations. Please submit your messages by 9:45 a.m. daily for inclusion in the same-day message.

Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
