DES ADMIN RECORDS SECTION TEMPORARY CLOSURE, Today-Friday:
The Fort Stewart Directorate of Emergency Services Police Admin Records will be closed for annual records purging from today-Friday. Emergencies can be handled on a case by case bases. For more information, call 912-767-8484.

OPEN SEASON HEALTH BENEFITS FAIR, Tuesday & Wednesday:
The Fort Stewart Health Benefits Fair is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Patriot Auditorium at Winn Army Community Hospital.   Vendor representatives will offer information on health, vision, and dental insurance programs to our civilian employees.  For further information contact Kaskha Anthony at 912-767-8358 or locate the programs at http://www.opm.gov/insure/health/rates/index.asp.

ROAD CLOSURE, through Dec. 26:
Steele Ave between Hero RD and Hase RD on FT. Stewart will be closed through Dec. 26 for re-paving project. Road detour signs will be posted for route around the construction site. Please avoid this area during construction to avoid unnecessary delays. POC for this project is Gary McIntyre (912-767-3305)

NOVEMBER/OTHER BRIEFS

TRAINING RESOURCE CONFERENCE, Nov. 24:
S-3's, Operations Sergeants Major, Master Gunners and Schools NCO's are reminded that the next monthly Training Resource Conference will be held Nov. 24, 9:30 a.m. at MOON THEATER. We will schedule training devices, ranges and training areas up through May 2016. The next conference will not be until Jan. 26. For more information call 912-435-8142.

THE EXCHANGE FREE MOVIE SHOWING, Dec. 5:
The Exchange will have an advanced movie showing at the Stewart Theater, 3 p.m., Dec. 5. The movie, "In the Heart of the Sea” rated PG-13, will be the260th Distributor/Exchange Appreciation Free Screening of a major motion picture and 23rd this fiscal year. We like to have every seat filled as this is what it takes to have continuous support from the film companies for advanced/free showings. Tickets for this event will be available at any concept in the Exchange Food Court starting Monday. Tickets are on a first come, first served basis limit 5 per person. No purchase necessary. MONTHLY TOBACCO CESSATION CLASS SUSPENDED/RESCHEDULED:
Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday the tobacco cessation class for November has been suspended. The next class will be Dec. 9. Classes will provide tools on how to become tobacco free and how to stay tobacco free if you have already quit.  Open to all Active Duty, Retirees, Military Beneficiaries and DoD Civilians (MEDDAC, DENTAC & VETCOM only). MEET RISING PGA STAR SMYLIE KAUFMAN AT TAYLORS CREEK, Tuesday:
Rising PGA star Smylie Kaufman, who won the Oct. 25 Las Vegas Shriners Hospital for Children Open, will put on an exhibition of his swing and winning techniques from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday at Taylors Creek Golf Course.  Everyone is welcome to this free event presented by Coca-Cola and MWR. TURKEY SHOOT AT HUNTER SKEET & TRAP RANGE, Thursday:
Win a prize valued at $20 in the Turkey Shoot at 6 p.m. Thursday at Hunter Skeet & Trap Range, building 8250 (off S. Perimeter Road). Cost is $3 per shot. 50 BIRD SKEET TRAP & 5 STAND SHOOT AT HUNTER, Saturday:
A 50-Bird Skeet Trap & 5 Stand Shoot will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hunter Skeet/Trap Range. Registration accepted until Thursday. Sign-up sheet is at the range. MARNE BOWLING CENTER TURKEY SHOOT:
Bowl two consecutive strikes during normal business hours at Marne Bowling Center from now through Nov. 25 and you will win a frozen turkey. The cost is $1 per person. SIGN UP FOR MANAGED DEER/HOG HUNT AT FORT STEWART, Dec. 19:
Active Duty Soldiers and Retirees can sign up until Dec. 8 at the Stewart or Hunter Pass and Permit offices for the final Outdoor Recreation managed deer/hog hunt at Fort Stewart this season. The hunt will be in the Bravo Area Dec. 19, with a selection drawing on Dec. 8. There will be 45 slots for active duty soldiers and five slots for retirees. THUNDER RUN SCHEDULE WILL CHANGE, DEC. 1:
Beginning Dec. 1, Thunder Run restaurant at Club Stewart will be closed for lunch on Mondays. Hours of operation Tuesday through Friday will continue to be 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. For more information, call 912-767-4717.
 
DISC GOLF AT NEWMAN FITNESS CENTER:
A nine-hole Disc Golf Course has been laid out on the grounds of Newman Fitness Center at Fort Stewart. Players can choose between layouts of 3,178 yards (par 30) or 2,542 yards (par 28). There’s no charge. Players can check out equipment at the Newman front desk or bring their own. For more information, call 912-767-3031.

FUN IN THE SMOKEY MOUNTAINS TRIP, Feb. 12-14, 2016:
Registration ongoing until Jan. 25 for the Leisure Travel trip to Gatlinburg Tenn.  Skiing, snowboarding, tubing and ice skating are all available at the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort. Cost of $450 for 1-4 persons includes hotel and transportation. Additional $50 charge for fifth person. Price does not cover ski and snow board rentals, but Military discounts are given. MAYORS THANKSGIVING, Nov. 22:
You are invited to attend the 13th Annual Hinesville Mayor's Thanksgiving Program, Sunday, Nov. 22, 6 p.m., at the Hinesville First United Methodist Church located at 203 North Main Street.  The service will be led by clergy from the community along with community leaders, a chorale of voices from various congregations in Hinesville as well as the chaplaincy at Fort Stewart.  Please come prepared for an evening of beautiful music and worship with the entire community. 


THANKSGIVING POTLUCK, Nov. 26:
VFW Post 660 in Savannah would like to invite the Military Community to a Thanksgiving Dinner Potluck on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, 1 p.m. at our Post,  located at 5115 Ogeechee Rd in Savannah (about 6 mile past the HWY 17 Walmart). If you would like to bring a dish to pass, that would be appreciated, but most importantly, bring yourself and join in a Thanksgiving celebration amongst Veterans and Military supporters.
