EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM WORKSHOP SLATED, Today, Friday:

STEWART FUEL FACILITIES CLOSURE, Friday:

The Fort Stewart Fuel Facility will close from noon to 5:00 p.m. to conduct end of year Close Out.  The facility will reopen at 5:01 p.m.  Customers will need to obtain fuel prior to closure of facilities on September 25. HAAF FUEL FACILITIES CLOSURE, Friday:

The Hunter Army Fuel Facility will be closed all day to conduct end of year close out.  The Hunter AAF fuel facility will reopen at 12:01 a.m., September 26. SUICIDE PREVENTION PRESENTATION SCHEDULED, Friday:

In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, this Installation will host Dr. Mark L De Santis, Neuropsychologist, will provide a brief lecture on Suicide Prevention and will present the HBO Oscar winning documentary on the Veteran crisis line. DISPOSE OF YOUR DRUGS SAFELY, Saturday:

National Prescription Take Back Day is scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. outside of Fort Stewart/ Hunter Army Airfield Commissary. The event is to help collect and properly dispose of unused, expired or unwanted prescription medications.

 

TRAINING RESOURCE CONFERENCE PLANNED, Tuesday:

S-3's, Operations Sergeants Major, Master Gunners and Schools NCO's are reminded that the next monthly Training Resource Conference will be held at 9:30 a.m., at MOON THEATER. JOIN THE GRIDIRON CHALLENGE, Fridays:

If you enjoy picking weekly NFL winners, and want to see how your skill matches up with others, the Gridiron Challenge every Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. in Warriors Lounge at Club Stewart is made for you.  There’s no admission charge, but you must be 18 to play and 21 or older to drink. Each week, the person who picks the most winners will win a prize. The total of wins will be kept on file and after 17 weeks, a prize of $400 cash will be awarded to the person with the most winning picks for the season. For more information, call 912-767-4717.

 

2015 FORT STEWART/LIBERTY COUNTY COLLEGE PROBE SCHEDULED, Friday:

Join us for College Probe, from 8:30-11:15 a.m. at Bradwell Institute in Hinesville.  This an opportunity for high school students, parents, and Soldiers to learn more about post-secondary options, financial assistance and scholarships. NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK COMPETITION PLANNED, Friday:

Boys and girls ages 6-15 will participate in all three events (punt, pass, kick) for a total score and a chance to advance to the sectional competition. Competition will be 5:30 p.m. at Youth Sports Football Complex on Green Street, Fort Stewart. Boys and girls compete separately. Participants must have a proof of age and register at Youth Sports and Fitness Center, Bldg. 7338. Only gym shoes can be worn for competition. TWO-PERSON SCRAMBLE AT TAYLORS CREEK GOLF COURSE PLANNED, Saturday:

A two-person Scramble will be held at Taylors Creek Golf Course starting at 9:00 a.m. The cost of $35 per person includes cart, greens fee and range balls. Registration accepted starting at 8:00 a.m. on day of the tournament. For more information, call 912-767-2370.

 

PARTICIPATE IN KIDS FISHING EVENT AT HUNTER, Saturday:

Youth (ages 16 and under) of Military ID Cardholders are invited to take part in a fishing event from 7-10 a.m. at Hallstrom Lake (off S. Perimeter Road). Permit and state fishing license fees waived and there’s no charge to participate. Limit of five catfish per child. Prizes. Drinks and snacks available. Limited amount of bait, along with poles to borrow will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis; so bring your fishing pole. For more information, call 912-315-5786.

 

MARNE TRAIL BASS TOURNAMENT SLATED, Saturday:

Last bass tournament this year, when Angler of the Year will be awarded. Anglers invited to compete for prizes where heaviest combined weight of up to five bass wins at Catch & Release Bass Tournament from 5:30 a.m. until noon at Metz Pond (Pond 26). Door prizes after weigh-in and awards handed out. Fish from bank or launch your bass boat (trolling motors only). No live bait. Boat rentals available at Holbrook Equipment Center to Military ID Cardholders w/boat safety card. Must have valid Georgia State and Stewart/Hunter fishing permit (unless age 15 and under). FOOT GOLF TOURNAMENT AT TAYLORS CREEK PLANNED, Saturday:

Taylors Creek Golf Course will host a Foot Golf Tournament Saturday. Registration will be at 11:30 a.m. and kickoff will be at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per player if the player has a number 5 soccer ball. Cost to rent a soccer ball is $2.
