(Thursday) EFMP SUPPORT GROUP MEETING:  Hunter Army Airfield ACS will conduct a EFMP Support Group for EFMP Families.  Speakers from the local community as well as ACS Programs will be on hand to answer questions and get specific feedback from your HAAF Team.  Event will be conducted 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at building 1286.  Call (912) 315-6816 for details.

(Friday) ACS MORNING CLOSURE:

(Friday) BATTLE BUDDIES:
Never leave a Buddy Behind. Come out and help other Soldiers. The Battle Buddy program designed for Soldiers, and former Soldiers to come talk to "friends". This is a powerful event that will allow "battle buddies" who have lost a friends, to express their grief, share stories and could eventually lead to healing and growth.  Next meeting is Friday, 11:30 a.m. at 1130 Soldier and Family Assistance Center 1145 Niles Ave. (lunch is provided by donation). (May 17) 2016 LEADERSHIP SEMINAR:
Hosted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Office, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, Management Employee Relations and Labor Law. This one day seminar offers topics unique to Supervisors and Managers of Federal Civilian Employees. If you are a Civilian or Military Supervisor of Civilian employees and would like to learn about conflict management, employee performance issues, your role in the EEO complaint process or how to have a difficult conversation just to name a few, then this seminar is for you! (May 18) ACS REAR DETACHMENT TRAINING:

Are you slotted as a Rear Detachment Commander??  How about Rear Detachment First Sergeant?  Are you properly trained through ACS on this position?  If not, think about attending the next event.  This training will assist you in the successful performance of these duties dealing with Families, your Family Readiness Group and Families in Crisis.  Training will take place on Fort Stewart, ACS building 87 from 9:30 a.m-4 p.m., May 18. (May 18) SMOKING CESSATION CLASS:

Due to a conflict in scheduling this month's tobacco cessation class will be May 18, if you are thinking of quitting cigarettes, chew tobacco or have recently quit and want to maintain. (May 20) HINESVILLLE VA OUTPATIENT CLINIC:
Join in for a Welcome Home event at the Hinesville VA Outpatient Clinic May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans, transitioning Servicemembers and their family members are all invited. (May 23) FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS:

This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. To register for this class, please submit your first and last name to usarmy.stewart.medcom-winn.list.environmental-health-services@mail.mil by COB May 19. Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted. This class is mandated for all those dealing with food items on FSGA/HAAF (Unit functions, Organizational Days, FRG Events).

(May 23) URGENT CARE PILOT:
Urgent Care Pilot starts May 23. The program authorizes TRICARE Prime Enrollees two Urgent Care visits per fiscal year (Oct 1-Sep 30) without a referral and authorization in any region.  After two Urgent Care visits, a referral from the patient's Primary Care Manager (PCM), would be required for future visits to avoid Point-of-Service (POS) deductibles and cost-shares. Follow up visits are not authorized without a referral from the PCM.

(May 24) STEWART CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL:
Stewart Candle Light Vigil will take place May 24. Please join us as we remember our fallen Heroes and honor their surviving Families. The vigil will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Main Post Chapel followed by a complimentary lunch. This month's skill is Avoid Thinking Traps, a common occurrence in all, but these counterproductive traps occur in the heat of the moment and cause us to miss valuable information.  Take advantage of these trainings and also learn the importance of “Hunting the Good Stuff”. (Ongoing) HAYS LIBRARY INTERMITTENT INTERRUPTIONS:
Due to Army Library technology upgrades, Hays Library customers will experience intermittent interruption in services, including borrowing, electronic access and availability of new release material for the next several weeks. The Library will be open regular hours but all services may not be available (or may be limited) for brief periods of time. (May 21) MARNE TRAIL BASS TOURNAMENT AT PINEVIEW LAKE: 
The third of five catch-and-release Marne Trail Bass Tournaments will be held at 6:30 a.m. May 21 at Pineview Lake on Fort Stewart. Cash prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum per person) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m.  Fee is $20 during Early Bird Registration (until April 30) for Active Duty Soldiers, Retirees and their Family Members and youth (15 years old and younger). (May 21) AMERICA'S ARMED FORCES KIDS RUN AT STEWART/HUNTER:
Every year, kids at military installations around the world run in support of Armed Forces Day. On May 21, our kids at Stewart/Hunter will be showing their support in two free runs, one at Jordan Fitness Center on Stewart and the other starting at the corner of Steven Douglas and N. Perimeter Road on Hunter. Both runs start at 9 a.m. Distances vary according to age groups 5-13. Each youth participant will be given a T-shirt. Parents are welcome to run with their child. (May 23) JUNIOR GOLF CLINIC AT TAYLORS CREEK:
PGA Golf Professional John Fesperman will teach youth ages 7-17 every aspect of the golf game - rules, grip, stance, posture, putting, chipping, pitching, irons and woods - during the six-week Junior golf Clinic starting May 23 at Taylors Creek Golf Course.
