(Today thru Thursday) BONE MARROW RECRUITMENT DRIVE:

Save a life! It only takes minutes to get your cheek swab and join the national registry with your bone marrow type.  If you're a match, you could be asked to give your marrow to save someone with cancer, sickle cell anemia or another deadly disease.  Unit drive at Hunter Army Airfield, today and Tuesday; public drive at Tominac is Wednesday and Thursday. (Tuesday) WINN PHARMACY OPENING LATE:

Due to training requirements, the Winn Army Community Hospital Pharmacy, located at the Furniture Store Food Court, will open late Tuesday. However, they will promptly re-open at 9 a.m. For more information, call 912-435-6662.

 

(Wednesday) MICC TEMPORARY CLOSURE:

The Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC) will be closed Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.-Noon for their Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Training.  The office will reopen at 12:30 p.m. for more information, call 912-767-8420.

 

(Thursday)  STATE OF THE GARRISON:                                                                                                                     

The Combined Fort Stewart/Hunter AAF State of the Garrison is scheduled for April 21, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Club Stewart Ballroom.   The State of the Garrison is a bi-annual event to share information with the workforce.   Topics will include Awards, IMCOM CG’s Top Priorities, Leadership Changes, Things We Are Proud Of, and Resources.  This is a bi-annual event to share information with the workforce. These forums are open to all Garrison employees.  All DA civilians (AF/NAF), contractors and tenant organizations assigned to Fort Stewart and Hunter AAF are encouraged to attend.  This will be your official place of duty. 

 

(Thursday) HUNTER TRANSPORTATION TO STATE OF GARRISON:

Transportation will be provided for the Hunter Army Airfield workforce to attend the State of the Garrison (SOTG) address, Thursday, 1-3 p.m. at Club Stewart. Buses will be staged at the south end of the Hunter Exchange parking lot, building 6020, 11:30 a.m., and depart at Noon to Fort Stewart. Buses will depart Fort Stewart at 3:30 p.m. to return to Hunter Army Airfield. Supervisors should provide the Hunter Garrison a roster of employees riding a bus to include their name/organization NLT 9 a.m., Monday at the weekly Command and Staff meeting. HAAF Headquarters will be closed during the SOTG, Thursday, 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 

(Friday) CLIENT SERVICES OFFICE:

The Legal Assistance Office will be closed on Friday for the Division Training Holiday.  As a reminder Legal Assistance Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9-11:30 a.m., 1-4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 1-4:30 p.m.

APRIL/OTHER BRIEFS

 

(April 25) FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS:

This class will be held at Winn ACH in the hospital education classroom on the 2nd floor from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. To register for this class, please submit your first and last name to usarmy.stewart.medcom-winn.list.environmental-health-services@mail by COB Thursday.  Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted.  This class is mandated for all those dealing with food items on FSGA/HAAF (Unit functions, Organizational Days, FRG Events).

 

(April 25-29) FIELD SANITATION TEAM TRAINING:

Field Sanitation Team training will be taking place April 25-29. This 40 hour course will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fort Stewart Education Center, building 100, room 243.  You MUST register for the course in order to attend. (April 25-29) SPRING CLEAN UP:

Annual Spring clean-up for the Stewart-Hunter installation areas. Recycling drive at Hunter Army Airfield, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., April 27 in the parking lot on the corner of Duncan Drive and Billy Mitchell Blvd. Recycling drive at Fort St4wart, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., April 28 in the parking lot adjacent to Bennett Sports Complex on Harmon Avenue. (April 26) TRAINING RESOURCE CONFERENCE:

S-3's, Operations Sergeants Major, Master Gunners and Schools NCO's are reminded that the next monthly Training Resource Conference will be held Tuesday, 26 April 2016, 9:30am, at MOON THEATER. We will schedule training devices, ranges and training areas up through October 2016. The next conference will not be until 31 May 2016.

 

(April 27) SMOKING CESSATION CLASS:

Plan to attend the tobacco cessation class April 27 if you are thinking of quitting cigarettes, chew tobacco or have recently quit and want to maintain. (April 28): HUNT THE GOOD STUFF CONCERT:

Do more of what makes you happy. (APRIL 28) CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS WEAR BLUE CAMPAIGN:

The Fort Stewart Annual Spring Historic Cemetery Tour is scheduled for May 4, weather permitting. This trip includes tours of Poplar Head, Congressional, Smith and Smith Chapel cemeteries, along with a tour of the Mid Coast Regional Airport. (May 6) MCSC GOLF SCRAMBLE:

Marne Community & Spouses Club (MCSC) will hold its annual Golf Scramble on May 6. The event will be held at Taylors Creek Golf Course and is open to the public. Registration ends April 25. The four person scramble will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. There will be a variety of contest to include, longest drive and closest to the pin. The hole in one contest is back this year with the chance to win a 2016 Chevrolet from Mike Reed. Individual player fee is $65 or $250 when you register as a team. (May 6): SPRING SPECIAL OLYMPICS:

Volunteers are needed for the 2016 Spring Special Olympics. The event will be held May 6, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Liberty County Recreation Department, 607 Oglethorpe Hwy., Hinesville, GA. (May 12): TIMBER HARVEST COMPLETION:

Fort Stewart/Hunter Airfield's Forestry Branch began a timber harvest on Fort Stewart adjacent to Hero Road in the vicinity of the wooded area south of Hero Road and west of New Guinea Street. The timber harvest is scheduled for completion by May 12. Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m-6 p.m. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are advised to use extra caution when traveling on Hero Road as logging trucks will be using Hero Road as a point of ingress/egress to the timber harvest site. (May 17) 2016 LEADERSHIP SEMINAR:

Hosted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Office, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, Management Employee Relations and Labor Law. This one day seminar offers topics unique to Supervisors and Managers of Federal Civilian Employees. If you are a Civilian or Military Supervisor of Civilian employees and would like to learn about conflict management, employee performance issues, your role in the EEO complaint process or how to have a difficult conversation just to name a few, then this seminar is for you! (May 18-24) PMP BOOT CAMP:

The Division Engineer will host a Project Management Professional (PMP) “Boot Camp” from May 18-24. This is open to military and civilian personnel. A professional trainer will facilitate the course - designed to prepare participants for the PMP exam. Soldiers who pass the exam gain an additional skill identifier.
