ROAD CLOSURE, Tuesday:
Steele Ave between Hero Road and Hase Road on Fort Stewart will be closed from Tuesday-Dec 26 for re-paving project. Road detour signs will be posted for route around the construction site. TASP TRAINING SCHEDULED, Tuesday & Wednesday:
Soldiers are invited to attend one of two upcoming Total Army Sponsorship Program (TASP) training sessions-Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. at Hunter Army Airfield, Army Community Service (ACS), building 1286, classroom 162, or Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at the Ft. This training does fulfill requirements within the Marne Inspection Program (MIP), A-16.   

CARE TEAM TRAINING, Tuesday:

SIGN UP NOW FOR STORM SPOTTER CLASS, Tuesday:
The DPTMS Protection Branch will host a National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Spotter Class, Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the SFC Paul R. Smith Education Center Auditorium. The training will be led by Warning Coordination Meteorologist from the Charleston NWS, Ron Morales, and will include a brief introduction to the NWS, the different types of hazardous weather and how to safely observe them, the types of severe weather to report, and how to send those reports to the NWS.  No prior knowledge of weather or weather observing is necessary to attend this training. WHITE HOUSE COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY (WHCA) RECRUITING VISIT, Wednesday-Friday:

FAMILY PROGRAMS COORDINATION MEETING, Wednesday:

Community members are invited to join Fort Stewart for the Fall Historic Communities Council meeting and Cemetery visit, Wednesday. The Soldier & Family Assistance Center is scheduled to host Growth, Progression and Strength event from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Fort Stewart Education Center, building 100. The target audience for the event includes Warrior Transition Battalion Soldiers, their family members and caregivers. STEWART COMMISSARY VETERAN'S DAY HOURS, Nov. 11:
The Fort Stewart commissary will be open for business on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store will be closed during "Early Bird Hours" on that day honoring American veterans. The Fort Stewart Commissary is working hard to bring the commissary benefit to their customers with great savings on name-brand products, Bakery, Deli, Fresh Sandwiches To Go, Hot Foods Department, Rotisserie Chicken and Sushi. VETERANS DAY FREE MEALS/DISCOUNTS, Nov. 11:
Veterans Day is soon approaching and there are many restaurants and companies who want to thank our veterans by providing them with discounts or a free meal. To those companies offering veterans a free meal or discount, the military community gives a collective thanks. Most companies require some form of military ID, such as a Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired), VA ID card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Driver's License with Veterans Designation, Photograph in uniform, wearing your uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW), DD214, discharge paperwork, or other form of identification. Other restaurants and companies may go by the honor system. Always call ahead to verify locations, times, and participation. Many of the companies are franchises and may have different policies. FORT STEWART NOVEMBER DINING FACILITY SCHEDULE:

Legion (building 207, 660 Harmon Ave), Thunder Café (building 3003, 1600 W. 6th Street), and Spartan (building 8439, Vanguard Road) DFACs will be open for weekday breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals, Monday - Friday.  Weekend/holiday hours begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday Nov. 7-9, 11, 27 the weekend designated DFAC begins with supper on Nov. 6, 10, and 26).  Spartan DFAC will close after the lunch meal on Nov. 6 and will reopen Nov. 10 with the breakfast meal.   Dining Facility information can be found on the Team Stewart webpage at: http://www.stewart.army.mil/info.asp?e=DFAC. Dining Facilities open for Weekend/Holiday meals are Thunder Café and Spartan DFACs.  Spartan DFAC will be closed after the lunch meal on Nov. 6 and will reopen on Nov. 10 with the breakfast meal.  Designated Weekend and Holiday Meal DFACs begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday on Nov. 7-9, 11, and 27 the weekend designated DFAC begins with supper on Nov. 6, 10, and 26).  Hours are Brunch 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Supper 5-6:30 p.m.

FS NOVEMBER WEEKDAY MEAL HOURS:

Do you have an issue that you feel needs addressed?  Do you have a potential solution?  Please consider submitting an Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) issue.  Your submission must be a Global issue that effects the entire Army.  You can submit issues on-line at the ACS portion of the Team Stewart website or look for submission boxes through-out the Installation. LONG RANGE TURKEY SHOOT AT FORT STEWART, Nov. 14:

Put your shooting skills to the test, and you might take home a turkey from the Long Range Turkey Shoot Nov. 14.The Turkey Shoot will be held concurrently with the Long Range Shooting that day from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Red Cloud Echo Range at Stewart. Cost for the Long Range Shoot is $15. Cost for the Turkey Shoot is $3 per try.  This rifles only event is open to all registered Stewart/Hunter weapon owners. All caliber rifles permitted. In the Turkey Shoot, contestants in groups of five will shoot at a paper target from 300 yards, and the one closest to the center wins in each round until all the turkeys are gone. 

TICKETS AND TRANSPORTATION TO DISNEY ON ICE SHOW AVAILABLE AT LEISURE TRAVEL:
Tickets and transportation for the 11 a.m. Nov. 14 Disney on Ice Let’s Celebrate show at Savannah Civic Center are available at Stewart/Hunter Leisure Travel offices. The price for tickets and transportation is $25 for adults and $20 for children. Ages 2 and above must have a ticket for admission. The price for tickets only is $17 per person. 50 BIRD SKEET TRAP & 5 STAND SHOOT AT HUNTER, Nov. 21:
A 50-Bird Skeet Trap & 5 Stand Shoot will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Hunter Skeet/Trap Range. Registration accepted until Nov. 19. Sign-up sheet is at the range. MARNE BOWLING CENTER TURKEY SHOOT:
Bowl two consecutive strikes during normal business hours at Marne Bowling Center from now through Nov. 25 and you will win a frozen turkey. The cost is $1 per person. SIGN UP FOR FINAL MANAGED DEER/HOG HUNT AT FORT STEWART:   
Registration is being accepted from Active Duty Soldiers and Retirees for Outdoor Recreation’s final managed deer/hog hunt this year at Fort Stewart. The third and final hunt, in the Bravo Area, will be held Dec. 19. Sign up at the Stewart or Hunter Pass and Permit offices before the selection drawing on Dec. 8.  There are 45 slots for active duty soldiers and five slots for retirees.
