TRAFFIC DELAYS, Ongoing:
Motorist are advised to expect delays in entering Fort
Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield as all vehicle occupants are required to have
a valid photo ID. Please be patient as
you move around the installations. We

please be alert for road workers and flag men.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON HWY 144 EAST, Ongoing:
The Georgia Department of Transportation will be paving a
portion of Georgia Highway 144 East on Fort Stewart through July 31. The portion will be approximately 11.61 miles
long between Evans Army Airfield and the boundary gate at Richmond Hill. There
will be night work involved and there will be light towers at each flagging
station. Lane closures be approximately 3.8 miles long. No lane closures shall be between the hours
of 6-8 a.m. nor 4-6 p.m. Monday through
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This will reduce the impact on traffic on the

BIKE PATH CLOSURE, Ongoing:
The Bike Path along Hero road is closed through May 15
from Liberty Street to the bridge toward Main Post. The closure is necessary
for the installation of a new water main for the Diamond Elementary School
Project. Signs will be posted for the duration of closure. Also motorists
should use caution in this area during the construction period. POC regarding additional information relative

CONTROLLED BURNING, Ongoing:
Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a
controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various
locations on the Installation each week. Motorists and pedestrians are advised
to use extra caution when traveling through areas that may be affected by

Army Emergency Relief – Making a Difference. The AER
campaign runs from March 1 through May 15 with the goal of creating greater
awareness of the benefits of AER as well as providing Soldiers the opportunity

4IBCT REFLAG CEREMONY TO 2IBCT - May 18:
Soldiers, Family, and Friends and members of the
community are cordially invited to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team's
reflagging ceremony10 a.m. May 18 at Marne Gardens. During the ceremony 4th IBCT
"Vanguard" will be deactivated and will be officially recognized as
the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Spartans.
Also, 1st Battalion, 76th Field Artillery Regiment will deactivate and
reflag as 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery Regiment; and 4-3 Brigade Special
Troops Battalion will deactivate and reflag as the 9th Brigade Engineer
Battalion. As of May 18 all 4IBCT, Vanguard establishments will be designated

conduct the Quarterly Substance Abuse Prevention and Awareness Training 9-10

Theater Bldg 1282. The theme is Spice
Awareness. All units are encouraged to

TRAFFIC WARNING FOR 16TH STREET, through May 29:
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Fort Stewart
as road construction is planned for East 6th Street for traffic between Harmon
Avenue and East Bultman, through 6 a.m. until May 26. In addition road
construction will close East 16th Street from Troop Avenue to Harmon
Avenue. The road will be closed from 6
a.m. until May 29. Detour signs and
traffic control devices will be displayed for the duration of the
closures. Motorist are encouraged to
avoid this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in

FIELD SANITATION TEAM TRAINING, May 26-29:

CIVILIAN FITNESS PROGRAM, June 1-Dec. 3:
Register by May 27
for the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Civilian Employee Wellness and
Fitness Program. Applications are
available online at www.stewartmwr.com/ or www.huntermwr.com. Click on sports
gyms and aquatics/Newman or Tominac Fitness Center and download your
packet. This program lasts 6
months. The Stewart Program at Newman
Fitness Center, B-439 has 25 spaces. The
Hunter Program at Tominac also has 25 spaces.
Hunter employees at MEDDAC, DENTAC and MSE are encouraged to apply. The program provides opportunities for
Civilian Employees to improve their health, well-being and overall resilience.
Department of the Army authorizes Army Civilian employees up to three hours
excused absence per week for up to six months to engage in a formal exercise
program. Army Civilians may participate

HUNTER TRAFFIC DELAYS, Through June 5:
Expect traffic delays on Hunter Army Airfield, through
June 5, in Wilson Acres and New Gannam, along North and South Lightning Road,
off of North Perimeter Road and Steven Douglass Street. Lane closures may be necessary to conduct a
smoke test of the sanitary collection system.
Delays may be incurred due to movement of vehicles and personnel. Please plan accordingly for the delays and

FOOD HANDLERS CLASS, June 29
The May Food Handlers Class has been cancelled. The next class is Monday June 29 from
10:30-11:30 a.m. . This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot
Auditorium. It is a FREE class, and certification is good for one year. To
register for this class, please submit your first and last name to
usarmy.stewart.medcom-winn.list.environmental-health-services@mail.mil. Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to
attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted. This class is mandated for all those dealing
with food items on the installation including Unit functions, Organizational
Days, FRG Events, etc.
UPDATE YOUR GOARMYED EMAIL PREFERRED ADDRESS, before June
30:
AKO will cease forwarding emails to Army Common Access
Card (CAC) holders on June 30. AKO has
already ceased to forward emails to non-CAC accounts. In order for you to receive information from
GoArmyEd you must update your account information and change your Preferred
Email address to your @mail.mil account.
To update your record select the "Account Information" link at
the bottom of your home page. Once you
update your Preferred Email address please select the "Update Account
Information" button.
EARN PROMOTION POINTS WITH ACS CLASSES:

HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD 75TH ANNIVERSARY DUATHLON 5K RUN,
Saturday (May 16):
Hunter Army Airfield 75th Anniversary Duathlon 5K Run,
starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, will consist of a 5K run on the flight line, a
10-mile bicycle ride around the post perimeter and a 3K run around the headquarters
building. Also: static military displays, band music and food vendors. T-shirts

HOLBROOK MOVIES UNDER THE STARS SEASON BEGINS SATURDAY
(May 16):
“Big Hero 6” will launch the popular Holbrook Movies
Under the Stars series on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. The film is rated PG and lasts
93 minutes. There’s no charge for the movies, and movie-goers are asked to
bring their own chairs or blankets. Popcorn and drinks will be sold. Other

AMERICA’S ARMED FORCES KIDS RUN 2015 AT STEWART, Saturday
(May 16):
America’s Armed Forces Kids Run 2015, part of a national
event in support of Armed Forces Day, will start at 9 a.m. Saturday (May 16) at
Jordan Fitness Center (building 608) on Stewart. The Hunter kids run will be
held May 30 and will begin at 9 a.m. at Stephen Douglas Street and North
Perimeter Road. Youth aged 5-13 are invited to participate. Ages 5-6 will run
five-tenths of a mile, ages 7-8 one mile, and ages 9-13 two miles. There’s no
charge, and T-Shirts will be awarded to all youth participants. Parents may run

SPLASHPARK AT CORKAN OPENS, May 18
“The Springs” Splashpark, building 444 at Cypress Creek,
opens for the summer season May 18 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. (weather
permitting). Admission for those entering the gated area is $2 per person (ages
3 and older). Children (ages 2 and under) free with paying adult. Swimmer

OUTDOOR POOLS OPEN, INDOOR POOLS BEGIN SUMMER SCHEDULES,
May 23 May 23 is opening day for the Corkan and Bryan Village Outdoor Pools at
Stewart and the Hunter Outdoor Swimming Pool & Water Spray Park. Hours of
operation will be 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on opening day as well as on Sunday, May
24, and on May 25, Memorial Day. The price is $3 daily or $80 for a season
pass. Children under 4 years of age free. Passes can be purchased at any outdoor
pool when they open. Also effective May 23, the Newman and Tominac indoor pools

ALL-ARMY TEN-MILER QUALIFIER RACE, JUNE 6:
Win the honor of representing the Third Infantry Division
in the All-Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C., Oct. 11 by being one of the top
three men or top three women finishers in the Qualifier Race at Donovan Field,
Fort Stewart, starting at 6 a.m. June 6.
There is no charge. Register from 5-5:45 a.m.at the qualifier site on

CHEROKEE, N.C. WEEKEND WITH LEISURE TRAVEL, June 12-14:
Visit an Indian Village, see their arts and crafts,
native dancing and tour the museum while learning about the Trail of Tears

include a night at Harrah’s Casino and a stop at the Biltmore Estate in

RUN/BIKE FOR THE HEROES, May 20-25:
Run or Bike Across Georgia, from Fort Stewart to
Columbus, a 260 mile jaunt across cool and comfortable south Georgia. Individually take on the challenge to either
Run Across Georgia in 5 days or Bike Across Georgia in 24 hours. Relay teams
can either Run Across Georgia in 40 hours or Bike Across Georgia in 20
hours. The event kicks off from Fort
Stewart's Warriors Walk and heads toward Columbus. Come out and cheer on these
