NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK, April
12-18 Fort Stewart/HAAF 9-1-1 Center celebrates this year’s National Public
Safety Telecommunicators Week in honor of their dedicated dispatchers who
process nearly 70,000 emergency and non-emergency calls each year from both the
Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield communities. Help us celebrate by
remembering and thanking the emergency services dispatchers that are the heart
of public safety. We ask that you take a moment to discuss the importance of 9-1-1
with your families, how and when to call, and as always “WHEN IN DOUBT, MAKE
THE CALL”. If you would like more

WOMEN AIRFORCE SERVICE PILOTS (WASP) EXHIBITION, April
14, 16 and May 7 and 12:
The “WASP” Traveling Exhibition will be on display at
Fort Stewart and Hunter AAF in recognition of the 75th Anniversary of “Hunter
Field and Camp Stewart" at Wright Army Airfield-MidCoast Airport Terminal,
located at 1116 East Lowes Circle in Hinesville, Ga, on April 14 and 16. The exhibit will travel to Hunter at the
Truscott Terminal, Bldg. 7920, North Lightning Rd, May 7 and 12. There will be two sessions each day, 10 a.m.
to Noon and 1-3 p.m. As a pioneering
organization of civilian female pilots, many WASP served at our local “Liberty
Field” (Now Wright AAF MidCoast Regional Air-port on Ft Stewart), flying a
variety of Army Aircraft during WWII.

Hunter Army Airfield, will conduct the Hunter State of the Garrison Tues., Apr.
14, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Hunter Chapel.
Topics include IMCOM CG priorities, Leadership change, Things We Are

The State of the Garrison is a bi-annual event to share information with
the workforce, and are open to all Garrison employees. The State of the Garrison briefing will be

GOLF LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS, April 16:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION BOOT CAMP INFORMATION
BRIEIFING, April 16:
Heaton Business Consultants will host an online
information brief April 16, 7 p.m., to provide an overview of the PMP Boot Camp
planned for May 20-28 at the Fort Stewart Education Center which is designed to
prepare students who plan to sit for the PMP Certification Exam. This 35 hour course will take place from 8:30
a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (no class over the 4 day weekend May 22-25). All
interested Soldiers and Civilians at Fort Stewart, Fort Benning, and
surrounding areas are welcome to attend.

FAMILY FUN RUN/WALK, April 18:
The ACS Family Advocacy Program will be hosting a Family

TRAFFIC WARNING ON SIGMA STREET, through April 27:
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Fort Stewart
as railroad crossing construction is planned for Sigma Street from March 27
from 6 a.m. until April 27. DPW is only closing areas around the 5 railroad
crossings on Sigma Street. Motorist are
encouraged to avoid this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to
changes in traffic patterns. For more

This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot
Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. To

Thursday April 23. Pre-registration is a
REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins

Army Public Health Nursing (APHN) in conjunction with the

NEW VISITOR CONTROL CENTER HOURS, Through April 30:
The Directorate of Emergency Services will close the Fort
Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Visitor Control Centers between the hours of 9
p.m. and 5 a.m. All visitors who have a
valid pass or Common Access Card / Military ID to access post unescorted will
be able to access post as normal.
Visitors who do not have a valid pass or Common Access Card / Military
ID will not be granted unescorted access to the installation and will be
required to have a valid Common Access Card / Military ID holder physically
meet them at Gate 1 (FS) or the Montgomery Gate (HAAF) for access. The valid ID Holder will be the visitor's
"Sponsor" while on the installation.
Once the sponsor meets their guest at the gate they will be allowed to
follow their sponsor in their vehicle to their final destination. Visitors will be logged onto post once the
sponsor arrives at the gate. The Sponsor
will be responsible and held accountable to maintain positive control. Sponsors are also responsible for the
personal conduct of their visitors. Only
valid Sponsors 18 and older will be allow to sponsor Guests/Visitors during
this time period. Up to five visitors
will be allowed per sponsor. Sponsors who fail to obey this directive could

TRAFFIC WARNING FOR 16TH STREET, May 29:
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Fort Stewart
as road construction is planned for East 6th Street for traffic between Harmon
Avenue and East Bultman, through 6 a.m. until May 26. In addition road
construction will close East 16th Street from Troop Avenue to Harmon
Avenue. The road will be closed from 6
a.m. until May 29. Detour signs and
traffic control devices will be displayed for the duration of the
closures. Motorist are encouraged to
avoid this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in

SATURDAY’S LONG RANGE SIGHT-IN CANCELLED The Long Range
Sight-in scheduled from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday (April 11) at Red Cloud
Echo Range (off GA Hwy 119 North) has been cancelled due to range maintenance.
The cancellation does not affect the Large Caliber Rifle Shoot scheduled Friday
(April 10) from 2-6 p.m. at Small Arms November Range on Fort Stewart. It will
be held as scheduled. The cost is $5 per two-hour block/person. For details,

GARRISON COMMANDER'S GOLF SCRAMBLE AT HUNTER, Friday
(April 10):
Kick off the 2015 golf season by playing in the Hunter
Garrison Commander’s four-person scramble Friday (April 10) at Hunter Golf

PARENT WORKSHOP AT HUNTER TO EXPLAIN TESTING OF PUPILS IN
GRADES 3-8, April 14:
A workshop focused on standardized tests children (grades
3-8) will take in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS)
before the end of this school year will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. April 14.
The workshop will be at the School Age and Middle School Teen Center, 2599 S.
Perimeter Road (building 8805). Pulaski Elementary School and Southwest Middle
School are working together, along with the School Liaison Office, for the
event. Learn how to support your child through testing in the Measures of
Academic Progress (MAP) for Math and Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI), as
well as Georgia Milestones, the new state test that everyone is talking about.
The format and structure of these assessments and how their scores impact
students’ promotion to the next grade level will be discussed. For more
