GOSPEL SERVICE WORKSHOP/CONCERT, April 9-11:
The Fort Stewart Multi-Cultural Gospel Service hosts its Ministry Music Workshop/Concert; featuring national Gospel Recording Artist, Minister David Bratton, songwriter of “Every Praise” as the workshop clinic, April 9-11 at the Main Post Chapel on Fort Stewart to help perfect its Ministry of Music and build partnerships with local pastors in Liberty County and surrounding areas and other FS/HAAF chapel congregations.

IG OFFICE CLOSED, THROUGH April 10:
The Office of the Inspector General 3ID at Hunter Army Airfield will be temporarily CLOSED until April 10.  The Fort Stewart and Kelley Hill (FBGA) office will remain open to provide assistance.  In the event that anyone in the HAAF area or surrounding communities require IG assistance, they can also submit an email at their convenience to usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.ask-the-ig@mail.mil or leave a message at (912) 767-2803.

HAAF "BUTTER ME UP" BAKE OFF, April 10:
Do you have what it takes to win? On April 10, HAAF will host the "Butter Me Up" Bake Off. Show off your baking skills with cakes, pies, cupcakes and anything you'll think that would WIN! CONTROLLED BURNING, ongoing:
Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various locations on the Installation each week. HUNTER VETERINARY SERVICES CHANGE, Ongoing:

NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK, April 12-18 Fort Stewart/HAAF 9-1-1 Center celebrates this year’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in honor of their dedicated dispatchers who process nearly 70,000 emergency and non-emergency calls each year from both the Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield communities. Help us celebrate by remembering and thanking the emergency services dispatchers that are the heart of public safety. We ask that you take a moment to discuss the importance of 9-1-1 with your families, how and when to call, and as always “WHEN IN DOUBT, MAKE THE CALL”.  If you would like more information about the Fort Stewart/HAAF 9-1-1 Center please call 767-0219.

WOMEN AIRFORCE SERVICE PILOTS (WASP) EXHIBITION, April 14, 16 and May 7 and 12:
The “WASP” Traveling Exhibition will be on display at Fort Stewart and Hunter AAF in recognition of the 75th Anniversary of “Hunter Field and Camp Stewart" at Wright Army Airfield-MidCoast Airport Terminal, located at 1116 East Lowes Circle in Hinesville, Ga, on April 14 and 16.  The exhibit will travel to Hunter at the Truscott Terminal, Bldg. 7920, North Lightning Rd, May 7 and 12.  There will be two sessions each day, 10 a.m. to Noon and 1-3 p.m.  As a pioneering organization of civilian female pilots, many WASP served at our local “Liberty Field” (Now Wright AAF MidCoast Regional Air-port on Ft Stewart), flying a variety of Army Aircraft during WWII.

DATE CHANGES - STATE OF THE GARRISON, Apr. 14 and Apr. 16:
Col. Kevin Gregory, US Army Garrison Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander, will conduct the bi-annual Fort Stewart State of the Garrison, Thurs. Apr. 16, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Main Post Chapel.  Lt. Col. Will Bowman, Garrison Commander, Hunter Army Airfield, will conduct the Hunter State of the Garrison Tues., Apr. 14, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Hunter Chapel.  Topics include IMCOM CG priorities, Leadership change, Things We Are Proud Of, What's Next, Resources, and Awards.  The State of the Garrison is a bi-annual event to share information with the workforce, and are open to all Garrison employees.  The State of the Garrison briefing will be held in conjunction with the Annual Volunteer Ceremonies.

GOLF LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS, April 16:
The Fort Stewart Golf League officially begins play Monday, April 13, at Taylor's Creek Golf Course.  The nine-hole, kick off scramble tees off at 4 p.m.  Cost is $20 per event, per player and includes golf cart, small bucket of range balls and selected prizes.  The league continues through June 1.  Please call Taylor’s Creek Golf Course with questions or to sign up!  912-767-2370.

TEA TIME WITH TODDLERS, April 16:
Come join us at the Family Advocacy Program's Tea Time with Toddlers 10:30 a.m. to Noon April 16. PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION BOOT CAMP INFORMATION BRIEIFING, April 16:
Heaton Business Consultants will host an online information brief April 16, 7 p.m., to provide an overview of the PMP Boot Camp planned for May 20-28 at the Fort Stewart Education Center which is designed to prepare students who plan to sit for the PMP Certification Exam.  This 35 hour course will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (no class over the 4 day weekend May 22-25). The IMCOM, Commanding General invites you to spend a few minutes taking a survey on IMCOM's Customer Service Culture.  The survey period was extended to April 17. Now is the time to express your views and have leadership listen. FAMILY FUN RUN/WALK, April 18:
The ACS Family Advocacy Program will be hosting a Family Fun Run/Walk. Saturday April 18; 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Youth Center-building 6054-N. perimeter Rd. Please bring your entire family to participate. The event is in observance of Child Abuse Awareness Month. This is a 1.4 mile event strollers and carriages are allowed. CELEBRATE EARTH DAY, April 22:
April 22 will mark the 45th anniversary of Earth Day and is the perfect occasion to reflect on the changes each of us need to make in order to protect our planet. By making a conscious effort to do things like recycle, use energy efficient light bulbs, fix leaking faucets and toilets, and use environmentally friendly cleaning products you can do your part to help protect our beautiful planet and ensure that its resources are here for future generations to enjoy.  To learn how you can help sustain our environment for future generations of Soldiers and their Families to enjoy, check out the conservation, recycling, and sustainability tips in each week’s edition of The Frontline.

TRAFFIC WARNING ON SIGMA STREET, through April 27:
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Fort Stewart as railroad crossing construction is planned for Sigma Street from March 27 from 6 a.m. until April 27. DPW is only closing areas around the 5 railroad crossings on Sigma Street.  Motorist are encouraged to avoid this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in traffic patterns.  For more information call James Maddox at DPW at 767-5027.

FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS Monday, April 27:
This class will be held at Winn ACH in the Patriot Auditorium from 9-10 a.m. FREE class, certification is good for one year. To register for this class, please submit your first and last name to usarmy.stewart.medcom-winn.list.environmental-health-services@mail.mil by COB Thursday April 23.  Pre-registration is a REQUIREMENT in order to attend this class, and you must be on time, no-walk-ins are permitted.  This class is mandated for all those dealing with food items on FSGA/HAAF (Unit functions, Organizational Days, FRG Events).

MEDDAC VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION CEREMONY, April 29:

MONTHLY TOBACCO CESSATION CLASS, April 29:
Army Public Health Nursing (APHN) in conjunction with the Army Wellness Center (AWC) is conducting monthly tobacco cessation classes.  The next class is April 29, 2015 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the AWC, Bldg. 442) located at 844 Gulick Ave., Fort Stewart.  Classes will discuss the new trends being offered as alternatives such as e-cigarettes and hookahs and provide tools on how to become tobacco free and stay quit for life.   Open to all Active Duty, Retirees, Military Beneficiaries and DoD Civilians (MEDDAC, DENTAC, & VETCOM only). CREDIT MANAGEMENT: April 29:
The Hunter’s ACS Financial Readiness Program will be conducting a Credit Management Class, 9 am to 10:30 am., April 29.  Hunter’s ACS Bldg. 1286.  This class will provide participants with a basic understanding of credit and discuss how to make informed decisions concerning the use of credit.  For more information or to register please call Hunter’s ACS at 315-6816. 

TINY TOT CARNIVAL, Apr 30:
Do you have little children? Bring them to the Family Advocacy Program's Tiny Tot Carnival on April 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. to Noon. This event will be held at the ACS Parking Lot. In case of inclement weather, event will be located at the Fort Stewart Corkan Family Center. Fun, games, and other activities for children ages 5 years of age and younger. NEW VISITOR CONTROL CENTER HOURS, Through April 30:
The Directorate of Emergency Services will close the Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Visitor Control Centers between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.   All visitors who have a valid pass or Common Access Card / Military ID to access post unescorted will be able to access post as normal.  Visitors who do not have a valid pass or Common Access Card / Military ID will not be granted unescorted access to the installation and will be required to have a valid Common Access Card / Military ID holder physically meet them at Gate 1 (FS) or the Montgomery Gate (HAAF) for access.  The valid ID Holder will be the visitor's "Sponsor" while on the installation.  Once the sponsor meets their guest at the gate they will be allowed to follow their sponsor in their vehicle to their final destination.  Visitors will be logged onto post once the sponsor arrives at the gate.  The Sponsor will be responsible and held accountable to maintain positive control.  Sponsors are also responsible for the personal conduct of their visitors.  Only valid Sponsors 18 and older will be allow to sponsor Guests/Visitors during this time period.  Up to five visitors will be allowed per sponsor. Sponsors who fail to obey this directive could lose the privilege of sponsoring future guests or visitors.  For more information, call Art Weston, Chief of Physical Security at (912) 767-1883.

TRAFFIC WARNING FOR 16TH STREET, May 29: 
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Fort Stewart as road construction is planned for East 6th Street for traffic between Harmon Avenue and East Bultman, through 6 a.m. until May 26. In addition road construction will close East 16th Street from Troop Avenue to Harmon Avenue.  The road will be closed from 6 a.m. until May 29.  Detour signs and traffic control devices will be displayed for the duration of the closures.  Motorist are encouraged to avoid this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in traffic patterns.  For more information call DPW at 767-3269.

FMWR NEWS

SATURDAY’S LONG RANGE SIGHT-IN CANCELLED The Long Range Sight-in scheduled from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday (April 11) at Red Cloud Echo Range (off GA Hwy 119 North) has been cancelled due to range maintenance. The cancellation does not affect the Large Caliber Rifle Shoot scheduled Friday (April 10) from 2-6 p.m. at Small Arms November Range on Fort Stewart. It will be held as scheduled. GARRISON COMMANDER'S GOLF SCRAMBLE AT HUNTER, Friday (April 10): 
Kick off the 2015 golf season by playing in the Hunter Garrison Commander’s four-person scramble Friday (April 10) at Hunter Golf Course. Play begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The $35 cost includes tournament fee, golf car, driving range balls and prizes. Players are asked to register by Thursday (April 9). Lt. Col. PARENT WORKSHOP AT HUNTER TO EXPLAIN TESTING OF PUPILS IN GRADES 3-8, April 14:
A workshop focused on standardized tests children (grades 3-8) will take in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) before the end of this school year will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. April 14. The workshop will be at the School Age and Middle School Teen Center, 2599 S. Perimeter Road (building 8805). Pulaski Elementary School and Southwest Middle School are working together, along with the School Liaison Office, for the event. Learn how to support your child through testing in the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) for Math and Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI), as well as Georgia Milestones, the new state test that everyone is talking about. BLOCK PARTY AT STEWART SCHOOL AGE CENTER, April 17:

EMERALD PRINCESS CASINO CRUISE SHIP TRIP, April 18:
Registration deadline is April 13 for a Leisure Travel trip at 9 a.m. April 18 to Brunswick, GA, for a cruise aboard the 200-foot, four-deck Emerald Princess. TWO-PERSON SCRAMBLE SHOOTOUT AT HUNTER GOLF COURSE, April 18:
An event new to Hunter Golf Course – a two-person golf scramble shootout – will get underway with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. April 18.  The cost is $70 for each two-person team and includes greens fees, golf car, range balls and prizes.
