ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF, Through May 15:
Army Emergency Relief – Making a Difference. The AER campaign runs from March 1 through May 15 with the goal of creating greater awareness of the benefits of AER as well as providing Soldiers the opportunity to donate to their fellow Soldiers. VETERANS PARKWAY TRAFFIC ALERT, Ongoing:
Utility work along Veterans Parkway will require partial lane closures through March 19 for the removal of old utilities from under the roadway.  Motorists could experience delays and should use extra caution in this area.  The POC for this action is Mr. Matt Bolen (DPW Project Manager) at 912-767-7898.       

COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY, now open:
The 2015 Community Needs Assessment Survey (CNAS) is open!  All community members, including Soldiers, Family Members, DA Civilians, Contractors, and Retirees are encouraged to take the survey.  The CNAS can be found at http://tinyurl.com/CNAS2015 .  All survey answers are anonymous and the results are used to determine ways to improve the Fort Stewart and HAAF communities.  For more information, contact Division Health Promotion at 435-9959 or 435-0875.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY SAFETY:

CONTROLLED BURNING, ongoing:
Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch is in the midst of a controlled burn season and will be conducting controlled burns at various locations on the Installation each week. 3RD INFANTRY DIVISION DAY AT THE CAPITOL, March 9:
3rd Infantry Division Day at the Capitol Monday, March 9 Georgia State Capitol, Atlanta, GA hosted by Rep. Al Williams and organized by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.  Leadership from Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield and several local elected officials will be on the floor of the House of Representatives, as Rep. Williams and others recognize the contributions of the 3rd Infantry Division to the state.

HIRING LIBRARY TECHNICIANS - HAYS LIBRARY FORT STEWART, March 9:

ASAP TRAINING, March 11:
Quarterly Substance Abuse training will be conducted at the Education Center on March 11 in the Auditorium from 9-10 a.m., 10:10-11 a.m., 10:15 - 11:15 a.m., 1-2 p.m. and 2:15-3:15 p.m.  Per AR 600-85, Army Substance Abuse Program, Chapter 2-19, paragraph b, Soldiers and civilians are required to receive annual training to ensure awareness of the Army Substance Abuse Program.  For more information, contact Lucinda Johnson-Wallace, M.A., LAPC, CPP, Prevention Coordinator, at 767-1146.

GARRISON HAND RECIEPT TRAINING, March 12:
The Logistics Readiness Center will provide Annual Garrison Hand Receipt/Command Supply Discipline training to Garrison Hand Receipt Holders, CDSP Monitors, and Credit Card Approving Officials on 12 March from 1-3 p.m. at Building 1065, in the upstairs classroom.  This training is an annual FY training requirement and seating is limited.  For additional information or to reserve a seat, please contact Amanda Holmes at 435-0179.

HUNTER GARRISON COMMANDER SUPERVISOR TRAINING, Mar. 19 and Mar. 26:
The Garrison Commander will conduct mandatory training for all Garrison Civilian Supervisors and those in uniform that supervise Garrison Civilians, AF and NAF Mar. 19 from 1-2 p.m. at the HAAF ACS Bldg. 1286.  A make-up session will be held Mar. 26 from 9-10 a.m. at the HAAF ACS Bldg. 1286. STATE OF THE GARRISON, Apr. 14 and Apr. 16:
Col. Kevin Gregory, US Army Garrison Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander, will conduct the bi-annual Fort Stewart State of the Garrison, Tues. STEWART/HUNTER POST-WIDE HOUSING GARAGE SALE REGISTRATION BEGINS:
Registration is underway for the Great FMWR Post-Wide Housing Garage Sale, scheduled April 25 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Stewart/Hunter. No charge to register or sell. Registration ensures your site is on a map of sale sites for potential buyers.  Only residents of post housing are eligible to sell, but everyone is invited to purchase at sales throughout Stewart/Hunter post housing areas. YOUTH TRACK & FIELD REGISTRATION AT STEWART, Ongoing:
Boys and girls (ages 7-14) may register for track and field at Stewart until March 13. Season begins in March and goes through May. Must be CYSS registered with current sports physical to participate. LARGE CALIBER RIFLE SHOOT, Saturday (March 7):
A large caliber rifle shoot is scheduled Saturday (March 7) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at SA November range. The cost is $5 for a two-hour block. Targets provided and shooting benches placed for use at each point. All weapons must re-registered on the installation to fire at this range. Register weapons at Pass & Permit from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Directions to range: Off Gulick, take 15th Street to McFarland. SHAMROCK FAMILY FUN RUN AT HUNTER, Saturday (March 7):
Run or walk the 5K or 1.5-mile course along N. Perimeter Road during Hunter’s non-competitive Shamrock Family Fun Run at 10 a.m. Saturday (March 7). First 100 participants who sign up and complete the run will receive a free T-shirt (ages 12 and older). Medals for kids (under age 12). Starting point is Stephen Douglas/Perimeter Road. POWERLIFTING & BENCH PRESS CHALLENGE AT STEWART, March 14:
The Powerlifting & Bench Press Challenge will be held at Newman Fitness Center on March 14. Contestants must be 16 or older to enter and will be placed into one of 11 different weight classes (male and female). USPF rules apply and lifting shirts allowed.  Awards to top three bench press and power lifters and each paying participant receives a T-shirt. The fee is $25 per person. MARNE TRAIL BASS TOURNAMENT AT PINEVIEW LAKE, March 21:
The Marne Trail Bass Tournament, a catch-and-release event, will be held at 6:30 a.m. March 21 at Pineview Lake on Fort Stewart. Cash prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum per person) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m. Fee is $25 for Active Duty Soldiers, Retirees and their Family Members and youth (15 years old and younger). Cost is $35 for the civilian community. VINTAGE HITCHCOCK: A LIVE RADIO PLAY DINNER THEATER AT CLUB STEWART, March 20, 21:
Enjoy a three-course gourmet dinner and live performance adaptations by MWR Community Theater of three early Alfred Hitchcock films March 20 and 21. The stories come to life in the style of a 1940s radio broadcast. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and shows begin at 7 p.m. both evenings at Club Stewart. DAY OF OFFSHORE FISHING WITH LEISURE TRAVEL, March 21:

EXTREME COLOR RUN AT HOLBROOK POND RECREATION AREA, March 28:
Registration is under way at Stewart/Hunter Leisure Travel Offices or online at https://webtrac.mwr.army.mil/webtrac/Stewartrectrac.html for the Extreme Color Run at 9 a.m. March 28. The untimed event will take runners approximately five kilometers through Holbrook’s campground and tank trails. The runners will be “colored” as they pass different color stations the length of the run. Online registration is $20 until Friday (March 6), after which it increases to $30 per person. Do you know that dogs can fly? The largest disc-dog competition series in the world is coming to Whitemarsh Island, Georgia! SAVANNAH STATE NROTC HOSTS MARINE CORPS BATTLE COLOR CEREMONY, March 22:

The Savannah State University Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit hosts the Marines the Marine Corps Battle Color Ceremony, March 22 at 5 p.m. at the T.A. Wright Stadium on the campus of Savannah State University; which is free and open to the public.  The Battle Color Detachment (BCD) is based out of historic Marine Barracks Washington, DC and is comprised of the US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, The US Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, and the Official US Marine Corps Color Guard.  The BCD acts as the Commandant of the Marine Corps' Ceremonial Maneuver Element and showcases the pride, precision and esprit de corps of the Marines to audiences around the world.  Featured is their 'Music in Motion' drill program by the Drum & Bugle Corps, the Silent Drill program by the Drill team, a presentation of the National Colors, and a Military Pass-in-review in front of a Reviewing Official.

The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).
