COMMEMORATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VIETNAM WAR,
Friday, (June 19):
Welcome Home Ceremony to honor our Vietnam Veterans and
their Families, Cottrell Field, 5:30 p.m., June 19, in Commemoration of the
50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. The ceremony will give Vietnam Veterans
something they did not receive when they returned from war some 50 years
ago...a welcome home. Veterans are asked to meet ceremony personnel at 4:30
p.m. at the SFC Paul R. Smith Army Education Center just outside Fort Stewart's
main gate. The Veterans will load buses and be driven to the ceremony site at
Cottrell Field for a Welcome Home Ceremony -- much like those that our Soldiers
and Families participate in when coming home from Afghanistan and previously

HUNTER TRAFFIC WARNING FOR PERIMITER ROAD, through Sept.
30:
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Hunter Army
Airfield as railroad construction is planned. The roads maybe closed
temporarily in areas while railroad equipment is moved. Motorist are encouraged to avoid this area to

HUNTER TRAFFIC WARNING FOR NEAL BLVD, through Aug.
21:
Neal Blvd. will be closed to thru traffic from 6 a.m.,
June 8 until Aug. 21 in front of Building 1279 to the MWR Vehicle Resale
Lot. Detour signs and traffic control
devices will be displayed for the duration of the closure. Motorist are encouraged to avoid this area to

HUNTER TRAFFIC WARNING, FOR LEONARD NEAL BLVD. June 15
through Sept 1:
Commuters are encouraged to use caution on Hunter Army
Airfield as road construction is planned for Leonard Neal Street between Duncan
Drive and Haley Ave. The road will be reduced to one lane, one way south bound
travel from 7 a.m. June 15 until Sept 01. Detour signs and traffic control
devices will be displayed for the duration of the lane closure. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area
to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in traffic

STEWART ROAD CLOSURE, June 8-23:
East 16th Street from Harmon Ave. to Ricker Ave/Austin
Road will be closed June 8-23 to complete the next phase of paving. Detour
signs and traffic control devices will be displayed for the duration of the
closure. Motorists are encouraged to avoid
this area to minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in traffic

ROAD CONSTRUCTION, June 8-Oct. 7:
Beginning June 8 through Oct. 7, construction will begin
on a Traffic Circle at the intersection of Hero and Austin Roads. The
contractor will be working diligently to complete the project prior to the
beginning of the next school year. Detour signs and traffic control devices
will be displayed for the duration of the closure. Motorist are encouraged to avoid this area to
minimize traffic congestion and be alert to changes in traffic patterns. POC

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE TRAFFIC ALERT:
Effective Monday, June 8, Gates 7 and 7C (Commercial
Vehicles) will be open from 5 am-9 pm
Mon-Friday. Will remain closed on
weekends and Federal Holidays, during this specified days Commercial Vehicles
will be able to enter via Gate 1.

WINN ROAD CONSTRUCTION, June 22-28:
There will be construction activities taking place after
duty hours in front of the Winn Army Community Hospital from 22-28 June 2015,
hours 4:30 pm - midnight. There will be
a forklift removing debris from the roof into a dumpster. Flagmen will be in place to redirect foot
traffic. Please use caution when

MARNE FOCUS ROAD ACCESS, June 25-July 1:
During Marne Focus supporting elements must use off post
roads to access Camp Oliver. If you have
to use a tank trail to access Camp Oliver, please use FS Road 17. Minimize all
traffic to Training Areas Echo and Foxtrot, Galahad Drop Zone, B-13 LFX and
B-18 LFX/Shoothouse during this training time period. Training Areas Echo and
Foxtrot will be in blackout drive. Vehicles should have an EXCON vehicle

WARRANT OFFICER ASSOCIATION GOLF SCRAMBLE, Friday, (June
19):
The Marne Chapter Warrant Officer Association invites you
to participate in their Golf Scramble June 19, at Taylor's Creek Golf
Course. The 18-hole scramble tees off at
9 a.m. The cost for the 4-person format scramble is $40 per person and includes

MONTHLY TOBACCO CESSATION CLASS, June 24:
Army Public Health Nursing in conjunction with the Army Wellness
Center is conducting monthly tobacco cessation classes. The next class is 9-10 a.m., June 24, at the
Army Wellness Center located at 844 Gulick Ave. (building 442), Fort Stewart. Classes will provide tools on how to become
tobacco free and how to stay tobacco free if you have already quit. Open to all Active Duty, Retirees, Military

2nd ANNUAL ACS RECON CHALLENGE, June 25:
Join ACS as we conduct the 2nd Annual RECON
Challenge. This IMCOM recognized Best
Practice will be conducted June 25, with registration starting at 4:30 p.m. The
challenge will begin after Retreat at 5:00 pm.
This is a Family fun event designed to build Resilience, improve
communication and build confidence in decision making. Participants will be given clues to navigate
to special landmarks on the Installation.
Landmarks will have questions and physical challenges designed to
further test participants. ACS will have

LOW COUNTRY BREWS & BBQ BITES, Friday (June 19):

DAY OF OFFSHORE DEEP SEA FISHING WITH LEISURE TRAVEL,
June 27:
Today is the last day to register for a day of offshore
deep sea fishing, where Black Sea Bass and Trigger fish are the catch of the
day. Sail out of Jekyll Island Marina on June 27. The cost of $135 per person
includes bait, tackle and transportation. Participants must be 12 years old or
older. Bring your lunch coolers, up to 48 quarts allowed, no glass. Keep what

HUNTER/STEWART INDOOR POOLS TO CLOSE WHILE THERMAL COVERS
ARE INSTALLED IN JULY:
Installation of energy saving, retractable thermal pool
covers will necessitate the temporary closing of Hunter/Stewart’s indoor pools
at separate times during July. Scheduled dates for closing are: Johnson Fitness
Center, July 6-13; Newman Fitness Center Pool, July 14-19, and Tominac Fitness
Center, July 20-24. The thermal covers, operated mechanically, will help to
conserve energy when the heated pools are not in use.
"THE WALKING DEAD" TOUR ATLANTA TRIP, July
