TAX CENTERS OPEN, Today:
Tax season is here! The Marne Tax Centers at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield opened today, Jan. 29 JAN and continues through Apr. 30. Tax Preparers will be available to assist Solders, Family Members, and Retirees from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon-Wed & Fri, 11 a.m. to 4 pm Thursday. Full service assistance for walk-in or drop-off returns. FREE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR DANCE PERFORMANCE AT SAVANNAH BLACK HERITAGE FESTIVAL:

Free tickets for a performance by the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble are available while they last at the Hunter and Stewart Leisure Travel offices on a first-come, first-served basis. The performance is on Tuesday (Feb 3rd) at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnny Mercer Theatre of the Savannah Civic Center. It is a part of the 26th annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival. Hours for the Stewart office, located in the PX Furniture Mall Complex, are 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday. Hours for the Hunter office, located in the PX Exchange, building 6020, are 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

FORT STEWART DINING FACILITY OPERATING HOURS, February: 
Legion (Bldg 207, 660 Harmon Ave), Raider (Bldg 642, 1312 William H. Wilson Ave) Thunder Café (Bldg 3003, 1600 W. 6th Street), and Vanguard (Bldg 8439, Vanguard Road) DFACs will be open for weekday breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals, Monday - Friday.  Weekend/holiday hours begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday on 13 – 16 February 2015, the weekend designated DFACs begins with supper on 12 February).  Dining Facility information can be found on the Team Stewart webpage at: http://www.stewart.army.mil/info.asp?e=DFAC.

FS WEEKEND/HOLIDAY DFAC:  
Dining Facilities open for Weekend/Holiday meals are Legion and Vanguard DFACs.  Vanguard DFAC will be closed after the lunch meal on 12 February and will reopen with the breakfast meal on 17 February.  Designated Weekend and Holiday Meal DFACs begin with the supper meal on Friday (for the training holiday on 13 – 16 February, the weekend designated DFACs begins with supper on 12 February).  Hours are Brunch 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Supper 5-6:30 p.m.

FS WEEKDAY MEAL HOURS:

McNEELY ROAD TRAFFIC ALERT, Feb 2-6:
A traffic alert has been made for McNeely Road Traffic Alert due to utility relocation work that will take place near the intersection of McNeely Road and Hero Road from Feb 2-6.   Both inbound and outbound lanes will be impacted on a small portion of McNeely road.  Motorists are advised to use extra caution in this area.  The POC for this action is Mr. Matt Bolen (DPW Project Manager) at 912-767-7898.

VET CLINIC CLOSED, Feb. 16:
The Veterinary Clinic will be closed Feb. 16 for President's Day, and is closed for all federal holidays.  In addition, the clinic closes early the last day of the month for inventory. ACS wishes to remind Commanders that the suspense for the Yearly Family Readiness Group Informal Fund report is due to the first O-6 Commander in the Chain of Command by Jan. 30. The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).

VETERANS PARKWAY TRAFFIC DETOUR ALERT, Jan. 26-28: 
Major utility relocation work will take place near the intersection of Bultman Avenue and Veterans Parkway from Jan. 26-28 for the installation of a new sewer line.  Both inbound and outbound lanes will be impacted on Veterans Parkway so traffic will be detoured onto Bultman Avenue.  Motorists could experience delays and should use extra caution in this area.  The POC for this action is Mr. Matt Bolen (DPW Project Manager) at 912-767-7898.

Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. VETERANS PARKWAY TRAFFIC DETOUR ALERT, Jan. 26-28: 
Major utility relocation work will take place near the intersection of Bultman Avenue and Veterans Parkway from Jan. 26-28 for the installation of a new sewer line.  Both inbound and outbound lanes will be impacted on Veterans Parkway so traffic will be detoured onto Bultman Avenue.  Motorists could experience delays and should use extra caution in this area.  The POC for this action is Mr. Matt Bolen (DPW Project Manager) at 912-767-7898.

Wrestling madness will hit Bradwell Institute when it hosts the Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Super Brawl at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. Among the celebrity wrestlers scheduled to appear are Buff “The Stuff” Bagwell, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner and “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff. VARIOUS STEWART ROAD CLOSURES, through April 17:
Niles Avenue will be closed from E. 16th Street to Steel Avenue through April 17. 4Th Street and Gate 2 will be closed through April 17. Work will also be accomplished on Austin Road through March 19. Austin Road will not be closed. Traffic will be directed by flagmen. Wrestling madness will hit Bradwell Institute when it hosts the Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Super Brawl at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. ROAD CLOSURE FOR MLK PARADE, Jan. 19:
The Hinesville Police Dept. will block General Screven Way for the MLK Parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and usually lasts 1 1/2 hours. Plan is to stop all southbound traffic on General Screven Way at 9:45 a.m. and remain this way until the entire parade has proceeded down General Screven Way and onto West Hendry Street. You will only be able to turn left unto General Stewart Way or right onto Sanders Avenue during this time. For more information, call 912-767-6328.

STEWART ROAD CLOSURES, Jan. 19-April 17:
Niles Avenue will be closed from E. 16th Street to Steel Avenue from Jan. 19 to April 17. 4Th Street and Gate 2 will be closed Jan. 19 to April 17. Work will also be accomplished on Austin Road from Jan. 19 to March 19. Austin Road will not be closed. Traffic will be directed by flagmen. The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Directorate of Public Works will conduct a power outage as part of the Veteran's Parkway road widening project. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref.
