FINGER PRINTING CEASES AT HAAF:
Fingerprinting on Hunter Army Airfield will be shut down until further notice.   We cannot transmit fingerprints at this time.  We are working on getting eWEBB as quickly as we can.  This change of systems will not allow us to transfer fingerprints from the system we currently have.  Once we are up and transmitting on eWEBB, persons will be notified. STEWART HOUSING SERVICES OFFICE CLOSURE, Friday:
Directorate of Public Works Housing Services Office (HSO) Stewart- office will be closed Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Building affected on Fort Stewart include office belonging to the Housing Services Office (HSO) in building 253-Soldier Service Center. TAX CENTERS FOR FORT STEWART AND HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Jan. 29:
Tax season is almost here! The Marne Tax Centers at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be open Jan. 29-April 30. Tax Preparers will be available to assist Solders, Family Members, and Retirees from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full service assistance for walk-in or drop-off returns. ADDICTION RECOVERY GROUP, Tuesdays:
A 12-step addiction recovery group begins meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Winn Hospital Chapel.  This is a faith-based program sponsored by the hospital's Unit Ministry Team (UMT. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY AT STEWART, Today:
Holiday music will fill the air, Santa will arrive and the Christmas tree outside Club Stewart will come to life at the Tree Lighting Ceremony starting at 5:30 p.m. today.  There’s no charge. Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Gluhwein will be available for sale. Seasonal music will be performed by the 3rd ID Band and the Liberty High School Chorus. Bradwell Institute’s cheerleaders also will be there for the festivities. Santa Claus will be available for pictures, so bring your cameras. For more information, call 912-767-6212.

BOSS CAR, TRUCK AND BIKE SHOW AT HUNTER, Saturday:
BOSS will present a Car, Truck & Bike Show on Saturday in the Hunter Army Airfield PX parking lot. The event is free and open to the public. Bike categories will be overall, cruiser and sport. Car/truck categories will be classic, new muscle, new import (2005 plus) old import, best truck/SUV, best overall, and most modified. Contestants may register at 10 a.m. on the day of the event. The cost is $20 per vehicle and $10 per bike. Voting begins at 1:30 p.m. and the awards ceremony will be at 3:15 p.m. For more information, call 912-571-0688.

TREES FOR TROOPS DISTRIBUTION AT STEWART, Saturday:
Free, donated Christmas trees will be given to Active Duty Soldiers and Families on a first-come, first-served basis at Newman Fitness Center, building 439, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, while supplies last. This is the ninth year that The Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx have partnered to provide the trees. Military ID card required. PLAY DAY WITH SANTA AT CORKAN, Saturday: 
Santa is taking a break from his busy schedule to play with his fans before the big day. FORT STEWART SPOUSE ONE OF SIX OPERATION RISING STAR FINALISTS:
Celeste Betton, wife of Staff Sgt. Kevin L. Betton Jr., a Fort Stewart Chaplain’s Assistant, is
one of six finalists who will compete in the Army-wide Operation Rising Star. Competition. Finals week is scheduled for Saturday-Dec. 12 at the Fort Sam Houston Theatre, home of Army Entertainment. Shows are recorded with a live audience Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Dec. 12. They can be viewed at www.OpRisingStar.com, on Saturday, Tuesday, and Dec. 11, beginning at 9 a.m. (CT), each day. Viewers will have 24 hours to vote for their favorite performers after each round. The winner will be revealed Dec. 13, at www.OpRisingStar.com, where the contest rules also are posted. Mrs. Betton won top prize in the Stewart/Hunter competition to advance to the finals. She is featured in a story scheduled to appear in today’s issue of the Frontline post newspaper.

Holbrook Pond Recreation Area will glow with Christmas lights and illuminated decorations that will delight children and adults alike during the Ho Ho Holbrook Festival of Lights event from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-13. The Marne Message submission email address is USARMY Fort Stewart ID List ALL Message Request (on the global) or typed as: usarmy.stewart.3-id.list.all-message-request@mail.mil. In order to keep the Marne Message timely and concise, limit submissions to 75 words or less. Do not use military times. Attachments cannot be included, but links to more online information can. Only official installation, MWR, or command directed messages are considered. Effective November 1, 2014, the Marne Message is only sent twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. The deadline for the Monday Marne Message is COB Friday, and the deadline for the Thursday Marne Message is COB Wednesday.  All incoming requests for Marne Messages will still be posted to the Google Blogger (ref. Marne Messages).

WANT TO GET MARNE MESSAGES?:

If you have moved and are no longer assigned to Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield, follow these instructions to change your duty location. Go to Milconnect at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect, login, select the "My profile" tab, select "Update and View My Profile", select the tab that corresponds to your current role in DoD (i.e. Mil, CIV, CTR, etc).  On the duty installation drop down menu select your correct duty location.  Your name will be removed from Marne Message distribution lists at the next scheduled update which is performed monthly.
